Santo Domingo. - President Leonel Fernandez today said he’s professor Juan Bosch in the flesh to the point that Bochism is in power and that it’s the late political leader who’s really governing.
The Head of State spoke in the international encounter “Legacy of a man of humanity” being held in the Foreign Relations Ministry until Saturday, to mark 1ooth anniversary of Bosch’s birth.
International representatives, Bosch’s relatives and other personalities participate in the event.
Fernandez praised the late political leader’s qualities and said it was the Trujillo tyranny’s mistreatment of the citizens which led Bosch to enter into politics.
Panelists and intellectuals from Cuba, Brazil, Peru, Nicaragua and Haiti among others spoke in the conference titled ‘Juan Bosh paradigm of the Dominican nation.’

Juan Bosch was a Freemason as was Duarte,Guzman,Mella and every founder of the western world government. Leonel is not a Freemason and wishes he had the soul of Juan Bosch and connection to the creator that JB had. The only thing Leonel has of JB is a Dominican passport.

We're not in the 1960's or the 1950's anymore. Trujillo, Bosch, Balaguer, Peña Goméz are all dead, we need new leadership.

LF is no Prof. Juan, furthermore he never will be. He has taken the PLD, a party dedicated to serving the country at its founding, and turned it into a mirror image of every other political party in the country, dedicated to serving themselves. The fact that he even made this comment in insulting and base, and only helps tarnish the good Professor's legacy.

Blasphemy, how dare he??? This is getting ridiculous. If JB had been allowed to go through with his reform, we would have been such a different(better) country.

I disagree with Leonel. How can he say that he's the reincarnation of Juan Bosch? When Bosch founded the PLD it was a leftist democratic socialist party. Nowadays its platform is more centrist and I worry that it's continuing to gravitate to the right. Hopefully it won't turn into a fascist right-wing party like the doomed PRSC.

Is that guy nuts or what he will never be Juan Bosh, he is not fit to be in the same room as Juan Bosh

This is disrespect to the man that gave his whole life to the Dominican Republic and the people of the Dominican Republic.
Don’t get me wrong Leonel Fernandez has tried to help the Dominican Republic. But his privatization, Lack of will to deal with crime and Corruption with in his administration makes him fall way far from Juan Bosch.
Like Juan Bosch there is no other.
If you where to see the documentary but Rene Furtunato about Juan Bosch and compare it to LF. There is no doubt that LF could not even fit in his shoes.
Juan Bosch had to deal with Trujillo, Cuba’s dictator Batista and a C.I.A. sponsored Coup.
What has LF have to deal with?
Corruptions by his own Party and himself “Sunland” for example, when LF makes statements like this he is insulting the memory of Juan Bosch and the intelligence of Dominicans.

Why on earth are Dominicans always looking at the past and past leaders???? The country is still poor and underdevelopped! Please look at the future.
Juan Bosh, Balaguer, Peña Gomez, non of them came with ideas to solve the problems of water and electricity or education that has our nation. There is really no reason to put those men on a pedestal.
Providing basic necessities to the people in a country really is not that hard. I mean come on guys, what are we, retards? This is not rocket science! Just make sure the distribution network infrastructure is up to date, make sure that the company which is providing the electricity buys effectively and efficiently. And make it accountable. If you don't pay, you don't get it. If you pay and you don't get it, you get your money back.

Therefore Fernandez probably is Bosch reincarnate

Fernandez says he’s Bosch reincarnate if that is possible does that make the Hippo the reincarnation of Bozo the clown ?

Reminds me of when Chavez says he can feel the presence of Simon Bolivar in the room with him and why he always has the chair to his right empty so he can attend the meetings if he wishes. Nancy Reagan and Elanor Roosavelt spoke to mediums and Astrologers, but then again they were not heads of state.

I do not understand why Dominican love so much old leadership. Out Juan Bosch, Balaguer, and the rest caused the Dominican Republic to be in crisis for many years. They even caused the invasion of the DR several times. I agree with Truji post where he mentioned that we need new leadership. We need to look forward and not back. The world is changing and new financial reforms and leaderships are needed in order to take the country out of poverty. Bosch was focused on socialism while Balaguer was in maintaining an oligarchy system that he could control. Our country is a capitalist country where everyone must have the same opportunities and the government must promote equality among all. Leonel, Estrella, Hipolito, and Miguel should step out and let others to lead. We must watch Leonel very close because he changing democratic ideas for others not so favorable to the country.

leo is a freaking lunatic, he doesn't have a hair of JB intelectual prowess, politico extraordinario founder of the two main political parties in DR, and a man dedicated to public service and government for the people. And most important what separated JB from the rest of his political peers is the fact the he wasn't a caudillo like balaguer and all others before him.

The only thing Leonel has in common with Bosch is that they both put their pants on one leg at a time.......
Leonel need only look out the windows of his office to see the suffering of the Dominican people under his leadership.
