The Honduran president arrived at the Las Americas International Airport where he was received by the Presidency’s Chief of staff, Cesar Pina Toribio, Investigations Department vice director Victor Crispin and Foreign Relations Ministry personnel.
Zelaya will travel from Costa Rica, after the failed meeting with president de facto Robert Micheletti, and that country’s president Oscar Arias as mediator.

If Richard Nixon had been impeached and convicted for Watergate, and then refused to leave office, until being forced out by the military, would that have been a “military coup”? Of course not. But Obama and many in the press are taking essentially that position in demanding the reinstatement of Honduras’s would-be dictator........................"..Obama stop treating Honduras like a Banana Republic "

Zelaya will never be President of Honduras again. He is the ousted former President and has been replaced. Now let us get on with the real news of the world. LF is not wise in aligning himself with this Loser. Makes him appear weaker. Send Zelaya anywhere, but get him off Dominican soil.

What Zalaya attempted to do was illeagal, trying sway public opinion for him to defy the constitution and run for a third term, but a golpe de estado is illegal as well. Even with Hugo's money this guy was bound to loose, he wasn't very popular amongst the people. The coup has made him a victim and he's actually becoming more popular (amongst the poor). Honduras will have to give in and allow Zelaya to finnish his term, or risk the collapse of their economy once the U.S. and EEC sanctions take effect.

today Obama spoke about a place that sounded very familiar ........obama speech today in Africa sounds very close to home
"No country is going to create wealth if its leaders exploit the economy to enrich themselves, or if police can be bought off by drug traffickers," he said
"No business wants to invest in a place where the government skims a percent off the top, or the head of the Port Authority is corrupt. No person wants to live in a society where the rule of law gives way to the rule of bribery." Obama - July 11, 2009
