Pedernales, Dominican Republic.- A man left a suitcase with four pounds of marijuana in the entrance of the local Customs office and fled to Anse a Pitre, Haiti, but CESFRONT border guards detained another who accompanied him.

The authorities identified the man who left the suitcase with three bags of the drug as Ney, reportedly a Dominican, whereas Yovanny Nova Santana, of Barahona, will be charged.

CESFRONT’s report to the Agency Drugs Control (DNCD), published by the official agency ANTENA, says the two men bought the around four pounds of cannabis in Haiti. “The drug was let in the access door to the Customs office by these individuals once detected by the authorities.”

Aduana to his office director: "Sir I confiscated 10 pounds of pot." Director: "Good job, send it here"

Office Director to his supervisor: "Sir, we confiscated 8 pounds of pot." Supervisor: "Fine work, send it here.

Supervisor to press: "We have confiscated 4 pounds of pot."

There's something missing here, two men try to move 4 pounds of weed into the DR, they are caught, but one "escapes" over the border into Haiti. My questions are #1, how many CESFRONT guards were at this post ? #2, why did they not go after him? and #3, are there any Haitain border guards , if so, why didn't they catch and detain the smuggler? Ladie and gentleman, this no way to run a country.

What was really fortunate is that this did not happen between 12:00 and 2:00 P.M. because everyone know that Aduanas take a two hour lunch break.

X, do you remember the movie ''up in smoke '' with Cheech and Chong , where they were smuggling a van made out of dope across the border ? Did you ever think of doing that with your hummer or even a FED-X truck ? The ladies will be flocking to Woodstock Hispanola on the border tonight . Your right Generoso , Haitian border patrol are notorious for thier ''shady eighths''..

There is something so ludicrous about this press release that I was wondering if it was April Fools Day ..and I am sure that juanb is close to the truth after all four pounds of pot is not so much these days and why issue the press release in the first place

They dropped of the Weed at the police station for what those cops will just sell it and make a profit. Come on who are we kidding; there is no good cops in DR they want to make a quick buck and trust me 4pounds of weed they'll make good money. So you can guarantee that any drugs dropped off at a police station will not go to Police headquarters. The cops will call the well know drug dealer and make a sweet deal. That is how it is in DR!!!! Sucks I know

If it's from the vancouver area, hell yes. Heck do they grow weed in DR? by the way the Dominican that flee to Haiti, it's sound like a prefect diversion, right out of the book. See him next time, at the theater close to you under different aliases.
