Baní, Dominican Republic.– For the fourth occasion and with the designation of a new judge, the preliminary hearings in the case against 25 men the August 4 killings of 7 Colombians in Paya, Peravia province (south) will resume tomorrow Friday in a San Cristóbal court.
The San Cristóbal Court of Appeals recently designated Nizao Justice of the Peace Leonardo Antonio Cruz to head the case, with a hearing at 9 a.m. Friday in the First Penal Chamber.
On Tuesday, July 14 the San Cristóbal Court ruled against Edward Mayobanex Montero, allegedly one of the ringleaders of the murders.
Defense lawyers asked the court to dismiss the “complex case” designation against Montero, but ruled against it in a 30-page decision, ordering the resumption of the trial for the 25 defendants, among them 10 now ousted Navy officers and 15 civilians (4 Colombians and 11 Dominicans).
In the case, aside from the 7 men executed, 1,300 kilos of cocaine and around 15 million dollars allegedly disappeared, on which the investigating commission and the Justice Ministry have yet to disclose their whereabouts.

Ahhh... The Dominican way. A mistrial.
If they get out of this, I can only hope they sell drugs to the Judges children.

Ah The thought of Miami...sic
I wonder how long before the bodies start to pile up.
Those Colombian's are going to want payment for the product. Lost or not...Some one still owes for it.
As far as the Colombian's favorite $15 Million goes....

Most likely the judges were involved and did not want any heat so they quit.
