Santo Domingo.– Dominican Police have been torturing people with onions to obtain information about crimes, the National Commission on Human Rights (NCHR) has alleged.
The organization has
documented dozens of cases in which police forced the vegetables into
victim’s mouths to make them feel as if they were asphyxiating. Some people also had onions stuffed into their rectums, the NCHR’s vice president, Joselin Melo, claimed.
According to Melo, the torture has been inflicted on people taken without arrest warrants
or detention orders but whom police believe might know about a crime or
be involved in it.

Good lord. They stuffed it where?? You know, one of the things I have never understood about prison rape is how can a man maintain an erection while knowing the man he wants to rape is fighting him back with all his might, and not be called gay?
I just don't understand it. And they supress people who simply..........Oh, what the use of going on. These are "men" after all, aren't they?

brucito I am sure you know already that Dominicans have a reputation for being bi sexual and for being more interested in sex than in romance

To me this shows lack of training in interrogation skills by the Dominican Police. This type of action on the behalf of the DR Police would only lead to further Hate, Suspicion and NON-support for the DR Law Enforcement.
Is it no wonder why so many Dominicans take the Law into there own hands. Like the DR Jails and Prisons aren't bad enough, right ! not to jusify this criminal practice but...After numerous onion uses what has been the END results, more arrests, bigger fish ?
This Human rights violations and practices must stop. Start by holding those responsible accountable for there actions from top to bottom.
When the Public looses Trust, Respect and Confidence in the Law, what you end with is Lawlessness..... US vs. THEM, THEM also being the Law......SOUNDS ????
C'mon onions......Good thing Dominicans are not big Chili fans.

If the NCHR has documented FACTS regarding such outrages acts under the color of Authority by DR Police, why doesn't the NCHR print the names of the Officers involved then go one step further and seek Federal Prosecution to include firing, Fines and long long Prison sentences.
While in Prison they then can play Butt Bingo with there new found Friends.
THE POLICE SHOULD POLICE ITSELF FIRST, IN ORDER TO RESTORE CONFIDENCE AND AUTHORITY TO THE PUBLIC IT SERVES. Stick to their own sworn oath !
And at the same time restore Integrity, Respect, Pride, Loyalty, Honor and the duty to protect and Serve.

I do hope they were small onions shoved up where the sun doesn't shine!!! If they do put the officers on trail let them stand at attention with an attractive bunch of green onions up their rectum!! You say for the police to work on Respect, Pride, Loyalty, Honor. Be kind to your brothers that may be pollice men. Let them try to perfect any one of those atributes. If they did you wouldn't have to read such scandalous behavior such as gently (I hope) placing onions up some ones butt!!!! I can't emagine a dominican offering to perform that act with out being under a great deal of pressure from their immediate superiors!!!! Or am I that naive? By the way don't try that stuff on the Haitians, they are so strong that if they would fart hard with a onion stuck in there, heads would roll!!!!!!

Please lets not forget these reports are from DETAINEES ONLY.
Also how many detainees were later arrested after Physical Questioning ?
DETAINEE: Meaning one who is detained for questioning regarding information about a crime that has been committed.
WITNESS: when the possibility of a Person having information that can be useful in determining that a crime has been committed threw personal eyewitness accounts.
SUSPECT: the possibility of an arrest is warranted based on Proof, Victims accounts, Evidence etc..etc.. That the Suspect is the Culprit.
Lets not forget that every time one is questioned by police regarding a crime or suspicion of a crime having been committed, one then becomes a DETAINEE.
Using Onions on Detainees as a Interrogation tool ???? sounds like a Sexual Assault/Battery crime to Me, all done under the Color of Authority.
GOD SAVE THE DR, even from ourselves.
