Mexico City.- The Dominican Republic and Mexico signed a statistic cooperation agreement to establish and develop exchange programs, Mexican authorities revealed.

According to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), the cooperation would include work organization, census and opinion polls methodology, social and demographic statistics as well as economic report systems.

"In order to reach these goals, it will be an exchange of knowledge through participation of specialized staff and investigators, as well as the delivery of statistic information and scientific articles of investigation," the INEGI said.

The INEGI and the Dominican Republic's Office of Statistics would jointly organize seminars, conferences and training courses to exchange information.

Wow that is really going to be a worthwhile project...I don't think!!

Seems to me to be another way for additional family members to be employed with high salaries producing a load of worthless paperwork at the taxpayers expense.

not necessarily so ..maybe a good way to improve knowledge ..the proper collection of information and how to read and use the information is vitally important to any planning ..and at present i do not have much confidence in many figures that are released here in the DR ..I do not know if Mexico is any better

you people are so negative in your comments ..no where does it say that there will be more positions and planning and good administration is based on sound reliable information and statistics ..if you just read what the article says you will see that this all about training and what this country needs is good training and education

YES probably you are right and in another section here , it points out how much Dominicans change when they go to North America and can see nothing good in their homeland ..maybe as justification for leaving ..but there are people here in the DR who are trying to make this country a better place

@Ricardolito,

Yes,I agree with your comment.
I lived 8 years in Cabarete,and I love R.D.and I wish the best for my friends Dominicans from Cabarete.
I'm tire to heard the Dominicans who can't help the R.D. tack negative about the R.D.
