SANTO DOMINGO.- President Leonel Fernandez yesterday appointed Police general  Rolando Rosado the new president of the Drugs Control Agency (DNCD), replacing general Gilberto Delgado, who is now vice minister of the Armed Forces.

He also appointed Army general Francisco Gil director of the Border Security Corps (Cesfront), replacing general Santo Domingo Guerrero Clase.

The Head of State, by Executive decree also replaced six regional Police commanders, in the second day of changes in police and military echelons in the last few hours.

However the chief executive hasn’t made any changes in the senior heads of those institutions so far.

I think the President has acted well in response to public opinion that changes were needed to make the workings of the government more transparent . I am sure the changes were made after advice was given to him and after he made numerous consultations .

Remember that stupid remark about the DNCD doing such a good job the country was running out of drugs and the Narcs were trying to sell fake drugs.

Looks like LF did not buy it.

Oh well, let's see what is wrong in the AIRFORCE and fix it. At least they have no airplanes to crash.

Ricrardolito,
Your right.....Action does speak louder then words, yet it never ceases to amaze me how Politicos see a problem wait until it becomes a REAL PROBLEM then act. If LF fails he still comes out a Hero in The Public opinion realm "Look what hes doing", "He cares", and..." At least He's trying". In my opinion..... Why always a little to late why ?

Now that He's done with the World Leader / Tour I'll like to see LF ACT on issues that has been plaguing the DR, before and during His Presidency, such as....
1. Power.
2. Medical.
3. Drug Problem.
4. Emergency / Catastrophe Response.
5. Education.
6. Over-all Crime in General.
Etc..Etc..Etc..
I just wonder how many years LF has been in Office so far ?

I believe on LF's next Re-Election bid The Citizens of the DR deserve to hear
" I have done" ? record speaks for it's self not what LF would say..... "I will do, and do" if RE-Elected.

Lets all hope, wait and see !

God save the DR.
