SANTO DOMINGO.- With documents in hand, citing specific names, ranks, dates and money sums Peravia province senator Wilton Guerrero on Wednesday again slammed the Police for their alleged dominance of the narcotics business in adjacent Azua province, which yesterday described as a “narco-province.”

He said Azua lives under a state of police terror, where the territory has more than 20 police, among officer ranks and agents allegedly involved in drug trafficking and asked Police chief Rafael Guzman to change the agents in Azua’s precinct. “That province lives under a state of police terror, it’s a shame that the Police chief praises those people in public because it’s a lie, he’s being lied to.”

Interviewed by Huchi Lora on Telesistema, the ruling PLD party lawmaker alleged that a single not a single narcotics deal takes place without police officer’s consent.

He said it’s not the first time he denounces criminal activities such as drug rip-offs in Azua. “We had denounced that worse than the existence of these bands, is those groups’ complicity with military, judicial and government authorities."

Last week, three people, among them a Police sergeant, died in Azua in an alleged "rip-off" of 10 of packages cocaine.

Guerrero said lieutenant Alberto Arturo Segura Lopez, commander of the Police post at La Bombita, near Azua, masterminded the "massacre," and reiterated that Guzman has been lied to.

This goes to show you how weak Dominican “democracy” and its “institutions” are.

Imagine if a sitting United States Senator made a statement saying that a state of the union was under siege by rogue law enforcement officers. Every national and international news media outlet would be reporting and leading with that story. The President of the United State would hold a live press conference; it would be discussed on every radio and TV talk show.

However in the PLD’s “Democratic Metrolandia” you hear nothing from Lie-onel Fernandez!
