SANTO DOMINGO.- Displeased by what it considers mistaken government social and economic policies which jeopardize the population, the entities +grouped in the Alternative Social Forum (FSA) announced an “active” 12 hour nationwide strike for next Friday.
FSA spokesman Fidel Santana Tuesday said the strike aims to show the Government the citizenship’s displeasure with its policies, and will include marches, pickers and vigils around the country.
He said citizens, the rank and file of political parties, unions, drivers, construction workers, teachers and neighborhood boards, among others will also support the protest, which he said aims to clearly expose the Government’s attitude which has abandoned almost all communities across the country. “As part of the strike there’ll be a call so that every official who’s been indicated as corrupt, is taken to court.”
Santana, interviewed on a morning radio program on Z-101FM, described the nationwide strike as peaceful though “active,” with some activities organized by the Social Forum’s senior leaders.
