Santo Domingo. - The Presidency’s Adviser on Narcotics affirmed yesterday that Colombians are involved in 70% of the drug trafficking cases or its structure is Colombian.

Marino Vinicio Castillo (Vincho) said Colombia’s Government should pass its criminal files to Dominican authorities, to gather the information and determine the number of individuals that live here illegally.

Castillo, who spoke yesterday in the National Palace after a meeting with Colombia’s ambassador Mario Montoya, called “severe” the situation with that nation’s criminals here. “Our youth is being devastated, destroyed as a result of the drug airdrops and the incessant transport of drugs by sea and air.”

The official said to have the Colombians properly registered implies a criminological mapping, but noted that all of those foreigners who live in the country are not into drug trafficking.

“We cannot continue tolerating the continued growth of the presence of the heads and the executors of crime. Paya was a warning,” he said referring to the seven the Colombians executed in Peravia province (south) last year.

For his part Montoya said his country as well as Dominican Republic wage an unwavering war against drug trafficking. “You can be sure that we’ll continue on that path; there’s a bit more than 4,000 Colombians registered here, people who are building companies and helping to develop Dominican Republic.”

What's with all the Colombian bashing lately ? sounds like blame shiffting . My question is how did these Colombians get to the DR in the first place and do the immigration authorities actually questions Colombians coming to the country as to the purpose for their visit?

DUHminicans...

..no fooling it's Colombians who get the drugs to the DR....after that it's crooked DUHminicuns in government and hired foot soldiers who are trying to survive.......IF Lionel wanted to do something he could have Miami PD, DEA and ICE come in and train his troops to deal with what was the 1980s in Flori-DUH......

It's not just Colombians...it's Puerto Ricans, Americans, Europeans, Mexicans...you name it....drug smugglers and dealers are everywhere looking to make a dollar

If they stopped trafficking drugs to the US, how would people be able to party of a weekend?
Also, trafficking drugs is illegal and therefore dangerous.
Spare a thought for these guys who put their liberty on the line to make sure people have the drugs to mess their lives up with.
They earn big bucks - maybe they deserve these big bucks - like I say - it is a dangerous business for these guys.

I think that all these corrupt Columbians should be taken out of the country. I also agree that the authorities involve in this should be arrested and prosecuted, for dirtying our country.
