Santo Domingo.- American Airlines, founding partner  the global alliance Oneworld, today donated a K-9 Unit of four tracking dogs and a van to the Drugs Control Agency (DNCD).

The handover took place in the Las Americas International Airport where the K-9 Unit will work in the inspection processes.

American Airlines director for Dominican Republic Oliver Bojos; AA Operations manager at Last Americas Héctor Martinez; Cesar Concepción, representing DNCD president Rolando Rosado; as well as Airport Management Company (AERODOM) executives and airport personnel were present in the delivery.

America’s initiative to donate the four trained dogs and the vehicle is part of its objective of continuing working together with airport security organisms.

Could somebody donate Corruption sniffing dogs?

A lot of them please, because they will need to work in 24 hour shifts 7 days a week!

Really, the problem is the Dominicans themselves.

I hope that they do not sell the dogs.

I feel sorry for the dogs, the human society should check up every month at least.

Those dogs will be dead in less than 3 months or sold (given) to some general for the protection of his country home.

Kind of funny, AA has to donate dogs to the DNCD in order to help keep drugs off of their own airplanes. This is sad..................

Maybe AA should have dogs so that the luggage is not pilfered by DR customs and the DNCD officers. My girlfriend's uncle once ate the dog I had given her. I hope these dogs are not eaten. He said it was a goat, but I saw the dog's head in the garbage pile out back. I'm not sure he was even her real uncle.

This is by far the funniest thing this year!!!! Number 1-What does American Airlines have to do with Drugs and Number 2 since American Airlines is laying off thousands of employee's and losing money and their service sucks, where do they find money to give things away??? Maybe the peanut, headphones, use the restroom extra charges they do now????? Fly JetBlue

jetblue is good but more expensive than the other airlines in December. I love the direct TV and XM radio onboard

true true xwill7 but American service has went down big time or at least here in Miami to D.R. The last 3 times we have went to D.R., they left our bags in Miami and we had to wait 1-2 days to get them back, then their flights are always late and I just came back a couple of weeks ago from D.R. and the flight to we sat out on the runway for like 1 hr because of something and the trip back another 2 hour delay at the airport. I think the economy thing is catching up with them as they continue to layoff staff which effects their service. Also, the flight charge went up bigtime to like $300 more but that has alot to do with new taxes imposed by the gov't.
