Eyeglass vendor is a notorious scofflaw

Santo Domingo.- The National District City Council (ADN) will charge the eyeglass company Óptica Almanzar with illegally and repeatedly posting billboards in public spaces, said the local government’s General Secretary, Domingo Contreras.

He said in the last few weeks the ADN has removed thousands of billboards and signs for particular use placed by politicians of the different parties, concert ads and stores, including those of Optica Almanzar, notorious for plastering them on road signs nationwide.

Contreras said that company had signed an agreement with the DNA to remove all their ads stuck on telephone posts, power lines towers, trees, walls and cables, but during an operation it was learned that the company had failed to do so.

The official said the AND will file charges against the company, which if convicted faces criminal and civil penalties.

Great! Now lets remove the mountain of garbage on each corner of the city, remove the children begging in the streets and the run down taxis that never get ticketed or towed.
