Santo Domingo.- Dominican authorities announced on Saturday they will implement a program to teach a substantial number of citizens to read and write.

The project will comprise about 700,000 Dominicans over 15 years, in a four-year term, aimed at eradicating illiteracy in the country, the Education Ministry said.

The initiative will begin this year, with a budget of nearly 16 million dollars. Experts from the Cuban literacy program Yes, I Can, implemented in several countries and in different languages, will collaborate, it was informed.

but on the other hand, if the woman in the picture has a cedula that says that she is 15/18 years, there is nothing to fear ......

joopjoop by the time the people in this program are able to read about Lie-onel his term will be long over and someone else's problems. Just because people are aware still does not mean the lies and corruption will stop. There are plenty of educated Dominicans now as well as the international community who can see and read what is going on in the DR. This means nothing to most as they feel it is their given right to squeeze their fortunes from good poor people.

Oil refinery partnership with Venezuela. Oil refinery partnership with Qaddafi. Reading course collaboration with Cuba. What's next? Farm programs from the Taliban? Anti drug rockets from North Korea?

Does anyone else see a very disturbing trend?

99% literacy by 2025? Very attainable goal. As a matter of fact i'm confident it will achieved by 2020. Good job President...as long as your PLD doesn't turn right-wing like the defunct PRSC I will support you, but as soon as you are not center-right anymore and become like the GOP I'm switching to the PRD!

I know a poster who is irritable, agitated , moves excessively and is confused and angry.

He is also pessimistic , manic depressive, doomy and gloomy

I suspect that he may have " Rabia Antileonelosis "

"Rabia Antileonelosis " is usually transmitted by a bite from wild rabid animals found usually in gutters and around garbage dumps

It's is about the time to educate people, even it is kind late implementation, but better than nothing.

So, the next step is How the government covering all the lies.

LF, think about it.
