SANTO DOMINGO.- Former tourism minister Felix Jimenez on Monday complained of what he calls exaggeration in the denounced corruption allegedly committed by Government officials.

“I believe those denunciations are very exaggerated which has unfortunately affected, in terms of honesty, the image of people and companions who haven’t become rich through the positions occupied in the Government.”

Jimenez, a member of the ruling PLD party’s Political Committee, the top echelon, said corruption denunciations have affected that entity’s recognized leaders with proven honesty. “Afterwards there’s no one who can clear them of the corrupt label. I believe in the PLD, in its leadership and in its mid levels has very able and honest people.”

The ex official, whom president Leonel Fernandez removed from the post after mounting pressure from several sectors, said there’s still much of the spirit of the PLD’s founders in the party’s middle echelon.

Yeah, right. Like someone could actually make the image of our lying, thieving, botella granting government officials worse.

Anyone who is from the country or had any business dealings with any government people know full well the whole place is a pool of corruption. The corruption is blatently accepted and while the general population is disgusted by it is simply powerless against it. We look like a failed state and a complete joke to outside observers. We cannot even get a stable electrical system in the country but our government officials drive around in million dollar cars they bring in tax exempt and resell for profit.

Sorry folks I am for corruption. At least you get something for your money. However, when you have a padded payroll at 10 times the norm and nothing is done or like here, no one shows up to work or knows what to do. What is needed here is a return of a Herrod and wipe all politicos and lawyers’ and 1st born….. Even as a failed Ghetto Nation; we suck. To be proud of my country is the same as loving my mother the whore.

Mr. Jimenez is essential telling the Dominican masses, who know, feel and are affected by corruption every minute of every day of their lives;

“Who Are You Going to Believe, Me or Your Lying Eyes?”

The arrogance of this PLD mafia is astonishing!

Josean:

This is where we always disagree. It is not the PLD. It is EVERY politician from EVERY political party. They all only go into government to get rich, not to serve.

Yes juan, but the PLD are the current criminals at bat, so they get the brunt of the fury.

By saying all the others have done it also; it becomes like a rationalizing and excuse for them doing it now. Yes many, many others have done it before them, but they claimed to be PURE and to nearly walk on water. They also sold themselves as the most transparent and righteous and created the most expectations in the masses of a real new change in the body politic of DR.

So now that they have been exposed as fakers, phonies and frauds they must endure all the criticism the Dominican people will give them, because the betrayed Dr. Bosch and the trust the populace placed in them.

Felucho was responsible for shaking everyone down that did not line his pockets and cut him into the deal. Why do you think there was such a back log of major projects that got approved in the first 6 months he was out and didn't buge an inch while he was in. I am curious how much his personal wealth increased during his reign of terror. It must have been at least 10 fold in cash and much more on paper in participation deals. If he was Mr. Clean why was there such a cry to get rid of this big thief? Let's not forget his final decree before leaving office to suspend all further development permits in Samana. This was strictly self serving his personal gain from his own project in Samana. Thank god that was removed immediately upon his removal too. He should just bow out for being discredited.

Inbred entitled corruption mentality.

They lie with impunity and wear their corruption as a badge of macho honor.

These people should be in jail, where they can not rape the country any more.
