Santo Domingo.- The Central Electoral Board’s (JCE) Administrative Chamber suspended the senior official Braulio Alcántara, who had been observed in the opposition PRD party’s Computer Center, as denounced by that entity’s leaders Guido Gomez Mazara and Tony Peña Guaba.

Alcántara, whose request for dismissal will be evaluated by the JCE next week, told news source diariolibre.com that he’s gathering documents in his defense. "The courts are there. I’m compiling all the information which has surfaced. So far I haven’t spoken and I will see if it affects my image and will do so in due time. I’ll say only that they only harm who they can.”

In a related development the JCE has fired around 15 members of the Municipal Electoral Boards for allegedly taking part in electioneering activities during the recent primaries of the ruling PLD and opposition PRD parties, as denounced by both.

Gee. What a surprise.

The surprise is not that there is a crook in the JCE. The surprise is that they outed him. Check their books, there are a lot more.
