Santo Domingo.- 124 Dominican men and women arrived in the country Wednesday as the year’s first group of deportees from the United States, after serving sentences in that nation’s jails for different crimes.
The deportees arrived in the country via the Las Americas International Airport, and escorted to the offices of the Immigration Agency for background checks.
The Immigration Agency said most of those Dominican served sentences for drug trafficking, assault, murder, burglary, fraud, sex crimes against minors, kidnapping, trafficking with people, money laundering, among others.
In a statement, Immigration said 2,730 Dominicans were deported from the U.S. last year, mostly for trafficking drug. “According to statistics that amount of deportees is the highest since 2000.”

Well at least they have "experience"...shouldn't be too hard to find a job in the DR...I hear the DNCD has an opening and a couple of high ranking positions open. The uniformes have a few small caliber holes in them...pero who's looking?

The very same people that they deport still manage their way right back into the United States! Sad, but true!

Josean ,,I just comment on each individual article as I see it and I see that there has to be some real action in the security checks in the Presidents offices. I do not expect the President to personally be in charge of the security checks of everyone in the Palace,,,he was elected to do other things ,but I expect the person responsible for this huge bungle to be dismissed .

Where are all these deportee criminals going when they reach DR soil? Are they been let free? Do they go to DR jail? What does our government do with these guys?
We do not want anymore such people roaming the DR streets. They should be forced to work, like building the border wall.
I agree that US should send all these Dominicans in US that give the rest of us, decent Dominicans living in US a bad name.
Have them build the wall, and then they could go free.

Thank God the USA makes them serve time before repatriating them, for we know that in DR they would just be made into clolonels or majors, be given a nice and cushy job at the national palace.
Gov't gets first dibs and that's why they have screening at immigration, sort of to pick cream of crop. They are valued for there knowledge of drug sales and connections, distribution in US.
How can gov't explain Mr. Savinon's hiring at national palace, when they received him upon deportation from US and clearly knew of his transgression? That's why they interview them upon arrival-what the heck do they do with the information anyway?

DR is becoming a new paradise for drug business for sure.
Because all the drug dealers can have a good protection through Government employees, and if they are generous enough, they may get another "Ambassador " to cover their dirty behind.
