SANTO DOMINGO. - The Dominican Government last night extradited to France a notorious Haitian gang leader from Port au Prince, who after murdering a diplomat fled his country with forged documents hid in La Romana (east), where he was caught by narcotics agents.
Amaral Ducloná was transferred from San Cristóbal’s (south) Najayo prison to Las Americas International Airport, where French agents shackled his hands and feet, prior to boarding the flight which took off at 9:30 p.m.
The suspect, who also has several homicide and kidnapping cases pending in Haiti, based his operation in the Port au Prince ghetto Citi Soleil.
The Supreme Court ruled to extradite Ducloná to France from the request by the Paris Office of the Prosecutor, which accuses him of murdering France’s Honorary consul in Cape Haitien, Claude Bernard in 2004.
