SANTO DOMINGO. – In an unusual display of sincerity by an official, Education Minister Melanio Paredes on Wednesday admitted incompetence to investigate the constant intoxications of students after eating the school breakfast, with 35 children sickened just during in the two months of the current school year.

Paredes said he doesn’t have the mechanisms to probe what has caused the poisonings and delegated the task to the law enforcement agencies, which informed him that the investigation advances.

Interviewed after presenting the results of a study on compliance of class schedule in the “Thousand x Thousand” program, the official said it found that 1,847 schools scored 75% better than expected.

Maybe if they were fed mangu de platanos instead of that no-nutrients serum Alejandrina German calls "milk", they would not suffer inconveniences.

Milk is not a common food staple for children from poor families and a number of them could be allergic to lactose.

I'll send you my bill, Mr. Minister.

Both A ,German and M. Paredes should be fined and sent to jail (10 years) for their total incompetence, not to mention their self-promoting, self-enrichment, and totally corrupt methods while serving the people of the DR.

Someone is getting kickback at the government level. They are protecting someone.
Any good public health offical should be able to find the cause and fix it before an autopsy is performed.

The officials in charge of the food program are all direct relatives of Leonel.

that is not a display of sincerity. it is a display of stupidity. of course he will be incompetent to discover what is the genesis of the problem, if he is not a scientist in that area. all he has to do is to turn it over to some bacteriological lab to test samples, and get to the root of things. why is this such a mountain out of a molehill?

It would have been more accurate had he just admitted that he was incompetent. Period.
