SANTIAGO.-The Santiago Mayor’s Office today filed charges of “prevarication, embezzlement, conspiracy, fraud, money laundering and breach of trust against former mayor Jose Enrique Sued and other City Council ex officials.

A group of lawyers contracted by mayor Gilberto Serulle Santiago and headed by his Legal Adviser Fernando Quiñónes filed the charges in the Office of the Prosecutor, with a power of attorney from the members of the City Council.

In the complaint the municipal authorities claim that Sued and the ex officials violated all the rules of accounting in effect to mange city budgets, as evidenced by an Accounts Chamber audit.

Let's see if his sorry ass is thrown in jail. I hope for a good twenty years. Time to make some of these guys pay the price. Only then will the small fries decide they live in a modernizing state.

If the new Mayor was a regular politician the PLD andf the PRSC would have stopped the investigation with some pesos. The new mayor is doing the right things...for now
