Dajabon, Dominican Republic.-The non profit organizations Jesuit Service for Migrants and Refugees, and Border Solidarity want to draw attention to the killing of dolphins in Denmark.

“W must always defend life and in every place of planet Earth. There’s a criminal practice there, supposedly cultural, that must cease,” the entities said in an emailed statement.

“And we ask ourselves: If that scenario is was to be inverted, would it be as much fun? Denmark should be ashamed,” the charity groups added.

How about the Jesuits focusing on the child molesting within the catholic church!!!!!!

This is the yearly pilot whale hunt in the Faroe Islands in the north Atlantic. A more than 1000 year old tradition to survive.

Why not complain about all the sheeps/bulls/cows/chickens etc. killed every day.

Go get yourself a life.

This is nothing compared to the japanese.... they'll kill anything that swims.... every year they round up and kill massive groups of dolphins..... they keep the best to sell to aqua shows around the world... everything else is/was food... Then they found out that the dolphins had high mercury levels and were sickening/killing there kids....

They've been doing that every year. I heard they do it in order to show the developing of the male or more like a manhood attraction that they celebrate every year. Dolphins are very friendly creatures and they easily approach to human and that is the reason they are easily killed in this place.

IIt is correct that a Pilot whale (grintehval, grindahvalur) is dolphin, just like a Chimpanzee is a human being.
It is also correct that the Faroe Islands is a part of Denmark, just like The Falklands is a part of United Kingdom.
Whaling in the Faroe Islands has been practiced since about the 10. Century. Around 950 Long-finned Pilot Whales are killed annually, The hunts, are non-commercial and are organized on a community level; anyone can participate.

The population of Pilot whales are 100.000.

Question to WalterPolo, , Dominican Republic, Puerto Plata
How can you accept killing whales like the Narwhale,
But not dolphins like: Common Dolphin, Killer Whale or Pilot Whale.
