San Cristóbal.-  Wielding bats, pipes, stones and machetes a throng of more than 300 drivers and collectors of the bus owners grouped in Conatra staged a violent showdown with competing union Fenatrano over passenger routes in the South region, halting traffic on the busy highway, shattered the windshields of 15 vehicles and attacked reporters of newspaper Diario Libre who covered the ruckus.

Seven men were injured when Police fired pellets and teargas to disperse the crowd from the 6 de Noviembre highway, when the drivers and collectors threatened to take the thoroughfare by force and halt traffic.

The impasse of several days pits the drivers of Conatra’s Antonio Marte against those of Juan Hubieres’ Fenatrano, over the control of two lucrative routes and express buses to Santo Domingo.

These truckers do great harm to DR's future. They need to be put in their place for the sake of all Dominicans. Be it the LF Administration or another future one, it will have to stand firm and make them understand who's boss. Like Truman did to the miners in the early 1950s. Unless the central government establishes its predominance chaos and disruption for petty issues, largely driven by wages and benefit issues should not hamper the nation's future. Let's look at the Larger picture here. It's not about scoring points on an administration that has not lived up to the high expectations many of us had when they started.

LF, you are such a pussy. This union is a bunch of terrorists, they kill and hurt people, you do NOTHING.

Think of these poor people that have to suffer with their demands and action, do you think you can do that, you piece of shit.

What if it was your family that was being hurt, would you do something?

Grow a pair of balls.

Loser.

let either side produce a CONTRACT, its the most civilized action to take. If a contract is N/A to square away this issue, then this stike is an act of terror to the dominican republic and these men should be put in jail and UNION BOSSES held accountable for any criminal act delt by anyone in their group.

Leo, apart from your colleagues asignning brand new trucks to each other and handing out payroll checks to ghost employees, isn't this enough proof for you to determind that you run a failed state
