Santo Domingo.- The millionaire Adriano Roman, serving a 20 year sentence for the attempted murder of his estranged wife Miguelina Llaverías in 2005, ordered the hit on her lawyer and journalist Jordi Veras, the investigating commission revealed Tuesday.
It said Roman contacted Franklin Reynoso, who is serving a 30 year sentence in the jail at Rafey, to plan the murder by hiring several gunmen who tried to murder Veras twice, the first time shooting him twice in face from which he lost his right eye.
The commission said Roman told Reynoso that he wanted a lawyer murdered before May 16, for which the latter negotiated with the also inmate Engel Carela to execute Veras. It said Carela then met with his brother Francisco Carela, after which Roman was asked to pay two million pesos for the job.
Reynoso then tells Roman that it would cost RD$2.5 million, but upon the latter’s refusal they agreed on 1.5 million.
The chronology is part of an organizational chart shown in the auditorium of the Justice Ministry, just minutes prior to a press conference on the details of the case.

Serendipity.
