Haitians didn't cause the outbreak, the UN did, so you keep blaming Haitians all you want.
All evidence points to the United Nations.

Can you please tell me all the evidence as the Nepalese have tested negative ?? I thought it was a reporter who had come in just at the time as all the waste water from the make shift toilets was mixing with the drinking water .

Relax,
Every year there is something to fear, some people just want to blame goverment for everything.
It is so easy to blame! The media has been scaring folks about Mexico lately and the danger but look at the stats on people arriving and the number of deaths and it is still actually safe but some people eat up all the media hype.
In the end shit happens and you deal with it or stay in a bubble and hide in your home because of fear.
I will take my chances at the beach!

I guess since LF made that horrendous remark about it, I have no doubt they are clueless.

We knew this was going to happen. Anyone with a brain knows how corrupt the average Dominican is. So you have an extremely contagious disease on the same island and everyone on the side with the disease under normal conditions wants to get to the other side. Now throw in the disease to motivate people to want to get over the border. Getting over the border only requires a small amount of money. Who didn't know this was going to pass over the border? It was 100% going to happen.

Government clowns say that everything is under control...
The local hospitals are in no way prepared to fight an outbreak, they often do not have soap in their toilets and no water.
No high season in tourism this year.

This might be a blessing in disguise. If LF has any kind of balls, he should immediately send troops to the border and completely stop the crossings. He has always been afraid to create a negative image for himself, but now he has a real good excuse. If he really cares about the DR, he will do something now. If he does nothing then we know for sure, he just don't give a shit about his country, only about himself and if that is the case, he should be ousted out of office.

I doubt that LF and the gang have not had some contingencies planned out. Certainly, LF and staff have tried to give this situation as little publicity as possible. Because of the nature of this epidemic and the possible negative perception the same may have on travel to the vacations spots in DR, LF and the boys don't want to stir up more headlines. The UN and the international community have acted inadequately and many innocent people are suffering the consequences in Haiti. Sadly, the historical pattern that Cholera takes leaves one with little confidence that its cross over will not become endemic on our side of the island. Man, what a dreadful situation at hand. Most people will be safe, as most practice good hygiene and have potable water and soap aplenty in DR. But what about the extreme poor and the migrant communities? Cholera strikes in the poorest recesses of the society, sadly, DR has a "few" of those around. Time for controlled preventive actions

Please do some research. The facts are there for those who want to acknowledge and
The CDC confirms the cholera strain in Haiti comes from South Asia.
Harvard Scientist = South Asia.
Swedish scientist = Nepal.
Cholera = Endemic in Nepal.
Nepal is in South Asia.
AP photo spotted a UN tank dumping untreated sewage in one of the rivers that connects with the main Artibonite river.
Nepalese troops are in the area where it emerged. If this was due to the unsanitary conditions of the earthquake, then it would have emerged in the areas that were compromised by the earthquake, and the Artibonite is not one of them. Artibonite is 4 - 5 hours away from the where everything happened.

For once the isolation of the tourist sector works to their advantage. With this relative isolation at hand, DR should not experience a noticeable decline in tourism. But the potential exist, if this issue is not handled correctly, for significant downward revision. I would expect LF and the business sector to pull out all the measures and countermeasures at their disposal. Too much is at stake.
