The first case, Wilmo Louwe.
SANTO DOMINGO. - The Public Health authorities investigate what could be the country’s second case: a Haitian citizen who arrived in Las Americas International Airport from Panama where he had traveled via Dominican Republic.
Pierre Renaud arrived in the country 1:30 a.m. Thursday aboard Copa Airlines flight 270 from Panama where he was turned back and prevented from reaching his final destination, Chile, where he legally resides.
Renaud left the country aboard Copa Airlines flight 271 together with more than 80 passengers whom had to be isolated once they arrived in Panama, said a source quoted by diariolibre.com.do in the air terminal.
Once he arrived, Renaud was immediately taken under quarantine to the hospital El Almirante, in East Santo Domingo.

Apparently, the controls are working.
Question is, how much of a cover-up is there?
I can't believe these measures were implemented on account of only one case..

If we do the same thing then we would be called racist, anti-haitian and everything else on the books. Sometimes I wish Leonel would have learned how to act like Balaguer did in times when situations like this arise.
We can be good neighbors but in life everything has a limit.

These people don't give a rats arse about DR but we shoudn't pay mind to their rants since we know where they are coming from .
Before the earthquake and the cholera outbreak the unfettered entrance of Haitians into our country was bad news and that has only gotten worse with time. The government has to take serious action and concentrate on border control long term no matter how much the afronazis and bad Dominicans cry.
Leonel's PLD and the opposition has to take seriously the main threat to the DR or it will get out of their hands quickly.
We need a president who takes DR's interests first ,second and third and that realises that in those interests Haiti is at best a burden and at worst the main threat to our existence as a nation and that no matter what short term benefits are to be gained from dealing with Haiti every ounce of profit comes with a pound of damage to the country in all senses .
Haiti should be left to the care of the UN ,France ,the US and Canada!

"Let us hope the political implications remain equally benign. This could have some negative impact on the climate of support for Haiti here.
My contacts with small groups running CTCs are screaming for supplies. People are trying to arrange private airlifts, asking if there are pharmacies nearby they might be able to buy Ringer's and body bags from. Apparently the official logistic structure is ignoring them, or is close to collapse. If there is an organized helicopter resupply effort the word is not getting out to many of these clinic, and people are dying needlessly because of it.

The situation in parts of Haiti appear to be in free fall. Body bags are in urgent need, and people are trying to arrange Private airlifts of supplies!! Wow!! Very bad news for the poor and innocent. DR must prepare for the worst.

My fear is that with cholera, it is not Haitians who are the victims. It is the poor. And there is little difference between poor Haitians and poor Dominicans.
Without proper controls, this will be a disaster for the unfortunate and disadvantaged of the whole island.
Will the DR's government have any viable means to do this? NO!

No don't send em all to Africa, just half of the population. Haiti has got to get it's poop together. Haiti you suck!!!!! Stop destroying the island Haitians. Shame on Haitians for destroying their side of the island and now wanting to destroy the spanish side. It's true, no one can deny it. Haitians have destroyed Haiti and now these locusts are moving on to the next target. They are following the same tactics as in Haiti, overwhelm the system. destroy the infrastructure. live of off welfare. There won't be a DR to save. It'll all be Haiti soon. Racist? No, the truth....

Its one thing to be for "IMMIGRATION REFORM" but it's another thing to say, send them back to africa. why dont u go back where u came from? a large part of DR is african ancestry with some ancestry from spain and even smaller taino. Why dont u go back where u came from. The hateful words of some dominicans make it seem that dominicans in general are more racist then gringos.

It's people like youand other confused Haitian that drive the most incendiary comments. You don't even respect our forums the same way you don't respect our territory. Your countrymen flood into my country and into this forum telling us what we should do when it is clear that we have EVERY RIGHT to deport each and every Haitian in our territory.
You may not like it but the bottom line is that most Dominicans don't have the same negative feelings towards Jamaicans or Barbadians etc. and it is for a reason yet you continue to provoke and create more resentment because no matter what you may see in the surface the justified feelings towards Haitians is just beneath the surface and even with that in mind We gave everything for the Haitians after the earthquake because even though we are a poor nation we are humanitarian even to those who have not been good to us and don't wish us well but the bottom line is that we don't mind Haitians as long as they are in Haiti not in our house and

So it seems you really don't understand Dominicans because we have never had Jim Crow laws ,Dominicans have been free to inter marry for all of our history as a nation and we have had nothing like the KKK but that doesn't mean that when we feel threatened either by Spain,France,Haiti or the US we will not fight back to protect what is ours.
We don't need "immigration reform" we need a closed border ,deportations and then WE can decide who WE want to let in and I feel the same way about Dominicans entering PR without permission and Mexicans in the US because it is a lack of respect to the laws of the nation you are entering.
The main difference is that ILLEGAL Dominicans in no way are even close to overwhelming Puertoricans while Haitians with their uncontrolled humping will outnumber Dominicans in our own side if not expelled and kept to a minimum and no nation has ever allowed itself to become extinct willingly!
Question is, how much of a cover-up is there?
