San Juan, Dominican Republic.- More than 1,500 Army troops have been deployed along the border with Haiti while hundreds of Public Health professionals and workers were sent to the most vulnerable zones, bolstering the two weeks old barrier to halt the entry of cholera and seal off the traffic of people across the border “definitively.”
Army Chief of staff Carlos Alberto Rivera personally supervises the military patrols from a command post installed in the 3rd Infantry Brigade in this southwestern city, and headed a military convoy that arrived with supplies and civilian Health personnel for the troops.
“In addition to the military who watch the border and the commanders of the different posts, from Pepillo Salcedo (Manzanillo) (northwest) to Pedernales (southwest), we have added 500 more troops to seal off the traffic of people across the border definitively,” the military official said, quoted by listin.com.do.
Rivera said starting early Friday he will fly over the border zone from Elías Piña to Dajabón, in his view the most vulnerable points for the traffic of people from Haiti and vice versa, accompanied by, 3rd Brigade commander Milton de Jesus Frias, and that more than 450 troops have been deployed throughout the western region to bolster security.

"DON'T BE SILENT" This is a good thing, sealing the border in this manner to stop the spead of cholera into Dominican Republic is needed to protect the Dominican people. Not the tourist industry. The tourist industry will be affected anyway, regardless of whether Haitians were crossing the border, because most tourists believe cholera can be spread by insects and no border security can prevent that. The mere mention of cholera has kept most of my family and friends off the Island of Hispanola.

ElSuavecito, you are the generalization and you do not even get it.
Your inbred macho moron mentality is nothing but a paper tiger. Dominican talk, talk, talk and do nothing, but blame it on someone else.
And you do not know what culture means or you wouldn't be so offensive about real issues in your country. Try fixing it instead of trying to berate me.
Your country is a cesspool of transparent corruption and it is a direct reflection on you and every Dominican that does NOTHING about it.

Let me particularize then.
Your ex-Mayor of Santiago burnt all his paper, to hide his corruption, that is against the law.
Your people did NOTHING.
So, from an outsider, your culture approves of that mentality, making you responsible.
Dominicans feel this type of behavior is acceptable, only to hope one day they too can steal from the public with impunity. What a culture. You should feel proud.

It is obvious to everyone you are a ridiculous excuse for a human, you pitifully sad, miserable, oxygen wasting wretch of a soul. I pity you.

I comment on positive things that happen in the DR, they are just so few and far between all the transparent, pathological corruption that your country aspires to.
BTW, vulgarity is the implement of the ignorant and you have proven this over and over again. I can only think that it is part of that world class culture you say you have.

you're a pathological liar gbum261.
show me a link to a positive comment you've have made recently about DR on this website, go ahead try, you won't be able.
The truth is that you're obsessed with DR, i know this by reading your two cents in 70 % of the news articles inhere, showing that you're very active on this domain, why is that? maybe somehow or in some fashion you've got wrong by a dominican in the past and as a result you've have developed this idea that all dominicans are the same and have made it clear by posting the same derogatory, offensive and vulgar generalization comments time after time.
Now, since you continued to make refences to the dominican machomen mentality , i came to the conclusion that if in truth you've been mistreated by a dominican machoman it was probably somebody close to you, maybe your partner or your boyfriend.
not that i'm saying you are a sour gay grape, but hey if the shoe fits.....
