SANTO DOMINGO.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) and the National Police yesterday reported the death of 46 people during the Christmas break, 30 of those from traffic accidents and alcoholic poisoning.
The COE and the Police said the remaining 16 were homicides.
The COE reported 28 people killed in traffic accidents and two from alcoholic poisoning as of 4 p.m. yesterday, while the Police said 14 deaths occurred during fights and two related to crimes.

Thats a large number for just a couples of days. I beleive we need to behave a littler be more, for some reason I seen a behavior change in DR people when they drink, Before it use to be all for just having a good time, now it seen that they have a few drinks and the next thing you know they become Rambo and start a fight for any stupid reason, and the guns and knives, palo botella brake loose, can't even enjoy a decent fiesta anymore.

In New york, The Police take your car and take you to Jail. Your car is impounded and you cannot get it back. Not only do you get three meals and a hard wood bed to sleep on. You have to retain a lawyer for five thousand dollars plus other fees the lawyer may tack on and court costs, If you want any kind of good representation in Court. Other wise there is FREE legal aid that the court will supply you if you cannot afford a Abagoto. But they are lawyers who have no interest in your case because they are new or low paid by the court system here. It"s now a business for the court to make money from the sale of your impounded vehicle. So the DR should have the same thing to recycle all the crap and junk cars off the road that most of the drunks drive there................................................
