Sobeida Felix, Jose Figueroa Agosto.
Santo Domingo.- Money laundering suspect Sobeida Felix has lost her visiting privileges for the next 15 days, after four cell phones were found in her cell in Najayo prison in less than one week.
The San Cristóbal Court of Appeals Prosecutor also sent the four phones to the Forensics lab (Inacif) and the other evidence found in Felix’s cell, for technicians to review the calls, which she denies were to her paramour, the Puerto Rican murder convict Jose Figueroa Agosto.
The first two phones were seized the 15th this month and other two on Friday, one of which allegedly by Sarah Lina Machado, one of her lawyers, who was detained on the spot after Felix tried to briber one of the jail guards with RD$100,000.

Great idea JD ! Give the guard that reported it a "whistleblower" award equal to at least 20%, or more, of what she turned down. What would a prison guard's salary be? The guard should get at least a one month bonus at absolute minimum. That would certainly lead to more bribes being reported instead of accepted.
Walter--- they were found during subsequent searches, not all at the same time. In other words they found one, she got another, they found it, she got 2 more. Obviously the other guards are taking the bribes. Her lawyer will have to stick with the guards he already has the dirt on for taking previous bribes

It is against the law to have a phone in jail okay,but what about the others prisioners that have many and nobody say nothing. everybody in najayo know who they are.

Well, only for the next 15 days, and then what will happen?
She will get her cell again, and she will have the privileges again......
Stop all these craps, I just do not understand why DR is giving privilege to people like Sobeida, you can not talk human rights to those criminals.....

Duh, how about just letting the 15 days go by and let her think she has got off with a slap on the wrist and in that time but in signal tracing units to see who she is calling, where they are and what is said. She sets considerable value on getting phones and that will not stop. Granted that information could be worth a lot so should be sheparded with some pretty trustworthy people/organizations.
