Santo Domingo.- The U.S. Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) affirmed that all Dominican airports meet the security system and control for articles banned to passengers by 100 percent.
A TSA commission formed by George Cruz, Brian Abbot and Pedro Rótela also praised the Quality and Security Control program implemented in the national airports by the Airport Security Corps (CESA).
The technicians, who inspected the installations of the airports managed by the company Aerodom, said the controls established by that company and the airport agencies meet the expectations of the U.S. authorities. “We observed very carefully, the process to install the equipment which controls access to the different zones, ID cards for people and the control of the articles which are distributed in the free zone stores and we verified the effectiveness of the measures.”
In a missive sent to Aerodom director Andrew O'Brian, the TSA commission states its satisfaction with the controls established in Las Americas and other airports which they inspected.
The periodic inspections by the U.S. authorities seek to evaluate the security controls and conditions of the equipment to check passengers and luggage.
In the missive to Aerodom and CESA, the TSA technicians request that the process to issue ID cards for the authorized persons and the control of traffic to the areas where vehicles can access the tarmac remains unchanged, to prevent hazardous situations.

Last time I flew to NY I forgot to put my pocket knife in my luggage, before I left my house. I put it in the container along with the other contents of my pockets to go through the scanner. It was right on top, clearly visible. No one cared, no one checked, and no on saw it. I wondered what contraband others carried on board.
The equipment is only as good as the people operating it.

If everything is 100% secure, how come there is trafficking of drugs at these points of entry and departure? They don't catch 100% of the narcos, they don't catch 100% of the fugitives. I suppose it is because the do not fly list does not include the narcos or the fugitives. When was the last time you saw a "WANTED" poster in airport terminals !!!

Juanb,
Really? Which airport is that where they are so casual? Why not send an email to to US authorities...I am sure your message would be appreciated. You might even get a medal. Granted, the inspections are only as good as the inspectors. However, they are very thorough with everybody that I travel with, everytime. Even my brother's grandson had to open his knapsack for inspection.
I go back and forth between SDQ and Newark several times each month and face scrutiny always,

This is crap and I don't believe it. Even inUS airports are not 100 percent secure/compliant.
I have seen many distractions when I have observed TSA personnel, which have created great opportunities for those who wish to harm us to maybe catch us off guard. They are all good people, however, trying to do best job they can to keep us safe, under difficult circumstances, so let's be respectful of the job they do.

What a joke, safe airports where you can sneak goats in luggages and tons of cocaine.
The equipment is only as good as the people operating it.
