The press release should read:

Vital aid work stopped was stopped as B-Lister Zoe Saldana arrived for a photo-op to promote herself and Avon Products. Ms. Saldana scheduled her photo-op over month after the disaster so as not to be ignored by the media as they covered more famous A-listers.

Zoe is half Puerto Rican and she was born in the states. Ni por sangre ni por lugar de nacimiento es solamente Dominicana. That's called half-Dominican.

anthonyc, the pseudo Haiti first lady elizabeth debrosse delatour preval instead of keeping her butt in Haiti to recomfort the mothers , wives who have lost their their children and husbands in the eartquake was in the Dominican Republic seeking contracts for her buddies in the construction business in Haiti including the vorbes family.
see a tragedy usually provides an excellent opportunity for people to promote themselves and / or their agenda

anthonyC,

A photo-op? She brought much needed aid and $800,000 to help. With a human tragedy. Her presence brings attention , a LOT of attention, to the fact that there is much still needing to be done.

synapse & cyberdragon,

Hundreds of thousands of people die....and the only thing you can talk about is deodarant? Um, Wow.

AN ADULT RESPONSE
==================
one extrapolation usually leads to another extrapoiation.
or one erratic and foolish comment can lead to misinterpretation
We have highly intelligent people here who command the science of dialectics
When you write a comment you must ask yourself whether your comment is clear, concise , self explanatory ,and direct
When his or her comment is misinterpreted the mature and adult poster restates his or her comment.
But you have not changed ,the same old cibaeno full of spent hate which clealy coated your response to me
Well you have something in abundance that I don't have: intolerance, impatience.
You also have a quick access to curse words.
I dare you to write a response without using one single curse word.
The article did not mention the nationality of Zoe .
you felt that it was necessary to explain that she was half Dominican and knowing you well,I felt that I needed to signal that you were using code words to undermin

Some children throw tantrums as a way of` expressing anger and frustration .
When a child throws tantrums, he or she is out of control

To survive a tantrum:
Stay calm
Do not respond to the child

If behavior is not corrected it will continue even into adultdhood (please read some of the comments)

Even Trujillio himself was not uniracial.

I know a man who owns a home in the Dominican Republic .
He travels 4 5 times a year there .
He owns and drives his own car there.
Hangs out with his numerous Dominican friends at his house or at their houses .
He also has several gringos friends
His US license and credit cards are recognized by Dominican authorities and business retailers.
He uses his debit card to withdraw pesos from several ATM's and sometimes pays in US dollars for his purchases.
Tell me Einstein, what do you think of this picture?

I don't understand why making a clarification of a contextual error consitutes as undermining or denigrating. The person who brings the correction should be thanked not vilified, Cib didn't make the information up. I'm disappointed that he even responded to the ridiculous criticism that was cast on him. Those who don't appreciate correction are adverse to learning.

The worst thing that could happen is for people to start becoming too complacent about the dire situation in Haiti. Constant media attention is needed to keep the issue in the consciousness of the people and governments that can help eradicate this natural disaster. By her actions, Zoe helps to bring continued media attention to Haiti. That she does so for self serving reasons or with the most noble intensions doesn't matter and will not matter to the people who ultimately will benefit most from this exposure, the people of Haiti.

"How beautiful she looks.... handing over food to people who can't take care of themselves... jjajjajaja," Carlos Franco snivels.

CarlosFranco never whimpers about the billions of dollars of aid that the bourgeois regime in Washington "hands over" to Israel every month, year after year, even when no earthquake strikes Israel. CarlosFranco knows which group he should bow and grovel before. Carlos Franco does not snivel about the trillions of aid that the bourgeois regime in Washington "handed over" to the financial sector of the US bourgeoisie in 2008 and 2009.

oooo

"So what! Every body is half something my friend," Cibaeno correctly observes

Even the Nazarene was "half something" ... half human and half divine. It is debatable which half was his better half.

DR reactionaries are half Dominican and half US imperialist. The US imperialist side of DR reactionaries is the rotten side or the slimy half.
