Santo Domingo.- Antinarcotics (DNCD) agents yesterday arrested a drug trafficking fugitive from State of New York in the entity’s own offices in San Francisco (northwest)

Soterio Junior Jimenez, who awaits extradition to the United States, owns the Perla First Class date motel, located in the entrance to San Francisco.

He was arrested when he learned that his brother, whose appearance is quite similar to his, was detained in the town Piedra Blanca on the Duarte highway, after which Jimenez went to the DNCD precinct to try to get his brother released.

DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebrón said Jiménez, now being held in the DNCD compound in the National District, is described as a multimillionaire who owns large farms throughout the Northeast, luxury vehicles and residences.

He’s wanted on weapons charges and of being part of a cocaine and heroin trafficking cartel in New York, which distributed the drugs in U.S. territory and Europe.

The Supreme Court is expected to approve Jiménez’s extradition as early as today.

Lebron said DNCD agents began tailing the fugitive once it received the request from New York Federal Court more than one month ago.

These traffickers with all this money should know the D.R. is not far enough to run from the long arm of the USA. Should have went Cuba run operation from there and re enter the D.R. privately aboard yaghts with the cash flow he possesed. And plenty others spots/places he would/could have flourished and have been safe. You would have been untouchable in other locations. Wanted fugitives here in the D.R. on serious charges will eventually be dealt and caught up with.

some people in dr can do big investment to laundry the drug money.....i am sure the government also notice that....

but the bottom line is why the government does not have a way to investigate it ?

which means the government also wants to make easy quick money from these guys.
