Santo Domingo.- The book by Maria de los Angeles "Angelita" Trujillo, daughter of the late dictator Rafael Trujillo, remained packed underneath the dark stairs as relatives of those who killed the tyrant boycotted its debut in Hotel Santo Domingo last night.

“Trujillo murderer!," "Angelita murderer!," was the shouted begun at 6:30 p.m. from dozens of relatives, nephews and friends of Antonio de la Maza, Luis Amiama Tio, Rafael Augusto Sanchez and Antonio Imbert Barrera.

The anti-Trujillo protesters arrived discreetly at first, managing to enter unnoticed the salon of the event, sponsored by the university Unicaribe, while outside others got out of their vehicles holding sings which read " Respect to the Heroes of May 30" (1961, date on which he was killed) and "Trujillo, assassin and thief!"

"They want to soil our heroes. Then who are our grandsons going to believe?," , said Magda Mejía Ricart. "She (Angelita) can say what she wants but what she’s saying is lie. What she’s doing is a mockery," said Isabel Rosario de la Maza.

According to reports on Angelita Trujillo’s book, it was several of those who executed her father who were responsible for murdering the Mirabal sisters.

Aborted debut

Dozens of people joined Magda and Isabel and neither the hotel’s security nor the warnings kept them from entering the salon. "Trujillo murderer!, Trujillo murderer!," , they shouted as the barged in.

Inside astonished guests watched the group enter as those who had previously entered discreetly joined the anti-Trujillo protesters’ chant.

The United Nations has registered 50,000 confirmed victims of the 31-year long tyranny headed by Angelita Trujillo’s father.

I will not buy the book, or contribute in any way, shape or form to the further enrichment of a mass murderer, thief, torturer and outright criminal's family and their descendants.
The book is intended with three purposes in mind:
1. To make money out of the curiosity of the reading public for unfounded gossip and rumors.
2. To make excuses and point the blame of the Trujillo's better known public murders to others.
3. To test the waters of the waning force of the Trujillista's and their future insatiable political ambitions, including a return to DR.

Trujillo was possibly the worst and most brutal and sanguinary dictator of the 20 TH century, and his name will rest in hell, and in the garbage can of history along with Pol Pot, Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo, Stalin, Somoza, Batista, Perez Jimenez, Duvalier and the rest.

Whom ever buys this book, is only putting money in the pockets of those a-holes and a-hole descendants that for 30 years or more have murdered, mamed, raped, silenced and pillaged the DR. The pages of that book should be used for toilet paper and put to good use.

Todavía creen los Trujillo
que somos sus conejillos
quieren seguir estos pillos
sonriéndonos con el gatillo

Angelita Trujillo
ex bella hija del tirano
en tinta pone la mano
para darse brillo

el condenado Trujillo
después de ser ajusticiado
no acaba de ser enterrado
con su funesto polvillo

el asunto es sencillo
en el aire se respira
el desaire que inspira
el veneno de Trujillo

qué Angelota ni qué Angelita
viene a modelar como corderita
queriendo lavar la dura careta
que nos dio 30 años de vendetta

ya para perder el sueño
nos basta a los caribeños
recordar al trío Lucifer
Trujillo, Batista y Duvalier

si con tu angelical obra
quieres hacer una de caridad
al fuego mucho le sobra
su llama para hacerla realidad

más que Angelita eres Diablita Trujillo
vete a lo más tierno
a la llama del infierno
para que logres arder con tu caudillo

con razón los ojos de Mesón
brotan de nuestro corazón
y las hermanas Mirabal
salen de sus tumbas a llorar.

I wonder if that book contains at least some truths? I am sure that every one will agree that Trujillo was definitely a murderer and deserved his fate. however, how many understand that Trujillo himself didn't kill those 50,000? I think it would truly be impossible for a dictator to go and commit those crimes himself. Point??? That someone had to have helped him. They do say that even Vincho was in government during Trujillo's time. Balaguer was in Gov during Trujillo's time. So I wonder if you're with a buddy who kills someone and you help him in the getaway car if you are just as guilty? So the question is, what happens to all of those who are currently in government who were part of the murders and are happily smilling down below at everyone using their energy for one washed up Trujillista while their own energy is never used to fight the ones who are still continuing with the atrocities? I do doubt Angelita pulled any triggers.

Of course the dictator had lots and lots of help, and in a perfect world they should all been brought to justice. But they weren't subject of a mass purge, or paredón such as the one that split Cuban society after the Castro take over.
Juán Bosch in part, came to power with the annointment and votes of Balaguer's followers, who was the subrogate leader of the extinct partido Dominicano or Trujillista party, Bosch with his logo: "Borrón y cuenta nueva".
Impunity, with the Trujillo criminals who gained more power and prestige after his assassination, is rampant, including many former military that are now happily retired and enjoying a life of leisure.

Easy to say but hard to do.
Justice has always been the weak link in our democratic form of government, because it is highly corrupt and politically influenced.
We have in DR a very forgiving society who takes care and shields their sons, even if they are wrong, and commit crimes.

BERLIN - Germany - Archaeologists have uncovered new evidence that may change history regarding the dead Fascist leader, Adolf Hitler.
In a remarkable turn of events, archaeologists have come across what is believed to be Hitler's moustache in a disused warehouse in East Berlin.
"We found his moustache in an old brown envelope with a little note next to it. The note explained that before Hitler and Eva Braun committed suicide on 30 April 1945, the Fuhrer asked his attache to snip it off and preserve it. The note did not explain why, but was signed by Wolfgang Reitmeister, who has been documented as being one of the officers who poured petrol over the Fuhrer's body after his death," one of the archaeologists told New Scientist magazine.
Preliminary carbon dating and DNA tests were completed last week with some very positive results. The data has been matched with Hitler's remaining relatives of which there are many still alive.

MUNICH - Germany - Adolf Hitler took time out from running Nazi Germany to be a hippy and take psychedelic drugs, a new book claims.
When he was not ordering stormtroopers into Germany's neighbouring countries, Adolf Hitler would relax with a large bong and strum on his ukelele.
The dictator would often break from the serious nature of waging his campaign to "paint flowers on his VW Camper van" before driving it around the Bavarian countryside with his entourage of free-spirited fellow "magic mushroom munching hippies".
His favourite hippy friend was the Luftwaffe chief Herman Goering, who was notoriously fond of wearing medals and decorations on his flared lederhosen trousers whilst singing freedom songs around a fire.

Dr G
thank you for educating me on this matter I can feel the passion in your writting on this topic. What you have described in your Posts on this issue is exactly what we in Haiti Felt under the Duvalier regime. I remember as a child even in your home my parents were fearfull of saying anything bad about the government you were made to fear even the helpers in your household. My step grand dad was a heavyweight in Haitian politic up to this day I still remember the day I came face to face with evil. Madame Max Aldolph, Francois Duvalier mistress and head of the Tonton Macoute came by for an official visit while I was there with the Old man. I was introduced to her,up to today I get the hives when I think back to that woman, there was an auro of evil about that Lady I will never forget. Yet today you a segment of the Haitian population who is nostalgic about that era.

Blurt- I believed you have exceeded your ration of Brugal for the day,as indicated by your last post

Its amazing to see people actually taking her side, defending the daughter of a monster, a monster herself...Either people forget just way to easily or are ignorant about our recent past. My family was persecuted by Trujillos hench men. Some family friends disappeared, never to be seen again. Do you people know that it was pretty much a crime to think back then?? My great grand father moved his entire family away from our ancestral lands to Jamamu, a mountain top town near the Pico Duarte just to keep his daughters safe. His only sin was having 13 white daughters with, straight hair, blue, gray and green eyes.

My uncle in Jamao was chased around by his goons just because he was related to Mon Rodriguez whom he had chased to Venezuela and finally ended his life there. My relatives did nothing wrong, were good citizens and very productive people. Our whole lives have been impacted by Trujillo's policies, now most of us still reside in exile, our lands lost, our fortunes stolen and that hag wants to paint the world a rosy picutre of that monster and herlself. She's lucky I couldn't get down to FL and organize a protest there too.

I don't support Leonel, he has lost control of his party and government but I won't beat a dead horse about him either. I don't support Hippo because I always knew that he would run the country to the ground. I had illiterate relatives become millonaires with Hippo while the educated had to leave the country for lack of opportunities. As for Trujillo and his families I have nothing but pure disgust that such trash can still walk around with their heads held high.
