Santo Domingo. - National District Sentencing judge Saulo Diaz issued an arrest warrant against former banker Leonel Almonte, the first to be convicted of major fraud swindling three depositors of the Banco Universal.
Diaz’s warrant also orders that Almonte be escorted to the Ciudad Nueva Courthouse to begin serving the 15 year prison sentence upheld by the Supreme Court.
On January 29 the lawyers for the depositors Cristian Caraballo, Rosa Caraballo and Remilda del Carmen Rodriguez had to file an appeal before the Sentencing Judge to carry out the High court’s ruling.

This guy ripped my father off in the mid eighties. I can never forgive him for forcing us into poverty. Four kids a wife and no money in Santo Domingo=hambre. His kids travelled the world and ate filet mignon. We had nothing, we couldn't even travel far way from la capital for a vacation.

I would consider this a good start on road to redemption-not of this criminal, but Dominican judicial system-which is in dire need of integrity, redemption.
As for this guy, Id rather see him hang in public square.....he clearly screwed lots of people and hanging would be just punishment. LF clould always pardon him-right after we cut him down.

This LADRON was on top of the world in the mid 80's, when Jorge Blanco was president, which by the way should be in jail too, also a guy by the name of Cuervo Gomez, back then, these people took everything they could with the blessing of Jorge Blanco; they all should be behind bars, but instead they live a lavish lifestile a costilla de los pendejos. Now he'll have to serve one year in a private clinic before the absolution.
