Santo Domingo.- Prosecutor Alejandro Moscoso today asked a National District court the luxury condo Torre Atiemar, property of the Spaniard Arturo del Tiempo, being held in his country in connection with the 1,200 kilos of “highly pure” cocaine shipped from Dominican Republic and seized in the port of Valencia, while other buildings are now the target probes.

Moscoso filed the request before the Instruction Court to have absolute control of the building under construction in the upscale sector La Esperilla.

On Wednesday Madrid’s Instruction Court ordered an investigation, confirmed by Moscoso, of the businessman del Tiempo and another man whose last names are Núñez Cebria in the case of the 1,200 kilos of cocaine, hidden in the false bottom of a container consigned to a company in Madrid.

Locally there are no arrests in connection with the case so far.

More condos in the crosshairs

In a related development Anti-Money Laundering prosecutor German Miranda on Thursday revealed having a list of large condo towers being built in the National District with “questionable” money, but didn’t specify.

He said many of those properties are owned by people who’ve been deported and strange persons, for which he’s convinced drug traffickers and other criminals launder much money in the construction sector.
