Santo Domingo.- Investigators say one of the two men found riddled with bullets yesterday in Batey 16, of the Central Romana Corporation (east) is Alfredo Rodriguez (a) Niño La Fragrancia or Niño pata de palo,  41, linked to the fugitive Ramon Antonio Puente (a), Toño Leña.

Together with Rodriguez his companion Juan A. Donastorg was also found shot to death.

At the scene Police found RD$306,000 in cash and a CZ85 9 millimeter pistol, series GZ182, whose license expired September 25, 2009.

Rodriguez owned the hotel Golden Sweet and was found shot 21 times inside his Lexus SUV with his companion.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Rodriguez was headed to La Romana after he visited a cockfighting arena in the village Cruce de Pavón, and that it’s a gangland murder linked to the case of the also fugitive Jose Figueroa Agosto.

That's the reason I moved to a place in the U.S. country side where the word gang is a foreign concept. I just finished appreciating the mountain view with a cup of coffee. As I read this news, I wonder what happened to the country of my childhood where the word gang was not even understood.

From Idaho.
