SANTO DOMINGO.- The investigate who try to determine how a "mysterious" airplane left from El Higüero International Airport (AILI) ) with a swapped registration and a fake flight plan discovered that it smuggled six passengers out of the country.
The passengers have yet to be identified.
Dominican Civil Aviation Institute, Drugs Control Agency (DNCD), Airport Security and Immigration Agency investigators have established that although the "general declaration" only identified the pilot and copilot, six passengers figure in the also adulterated flight plan.
More than 12 people have been interrogated so far, including technicians and employees of the various agencies in the airport.
Among those questioned are the painters hired to change the color to match that of another plane being repaired in Higüero’s hangars.
The work wasn’t concluded because the suspects took the airplane at night "still with the masking tape" and ready to paint the following day.

With everything going on in DR, these guys must have been coached into pulling this off. I can't believe that some one of power didn't give the OK to proceed with this mission. There goes 6 FRONT MEN for the cartel and no one will ever know who was on that plane. The maximum jail sentence in DR for being CO-DEFENDANT is maybe 6months 12 if you're stuborn and after you do your time you will be well taken cared of if not already. Also, if some one that you know will be under fire you can walk into jail in handcuffs and come out the back with a Mercedez G-wagon waiting for you.
