This recognition is just all part of the hidden agenda held by the international community and Leonel is their brown-nose, ass-kissing, mulato, nigga. The unification of Hispañiola heads on, slowly but surely. Ain't no stopping them now. This honor is an incentive for her and others like her to continue with an anti-Dominican stance and to help further tarnish the image of the DR. They are preparing the soil for a future, hi-profile, leadership position for her or some other up and coming pro-Haitian activists. You got to remember it was not Obama, but rather Bill Clinton the first black president in the white house, which might in part explain their support for Sonia Pierre.

Similarly, who here believes in creating objective criteria to judge whether a person's work is productive or destructive? Try to be objective, now...
lastly, try to be open to the fact that no one camp or person has a monopoly over the truth.
All these things together and do some introspection, and ask whether someone who is fighting to improve the living conditions of thousands of people, regardless of their ancestry or country of origin... Improving health, education, and helping people access primary services... is this not laudable? Criticism Human Rights abuses, is this not a praiseworthy mission?

I understand what most say here about Miss Pierre, but does it really make any real sense? First, she started a movement in DR because discrimination of Hatians is mainly a DR phenomenom not a Haitian one. Second, because there is no mention of her work in Haiti during the earthquake does not mean she did otherwise. The basic point is that just as every other group, hatians deserve to have someone defend them away from their homeland as well. The Haitian dilemma seems to have become a serious problem of racism which is besides the point that we have an immigration problem. I totally understand that we can't have a bunch of people coming in to the country illegally. This obvious. But it doesn't matter if they are giraffs, Eagles, blacks, whites, reds, or any other. The main premise that is always implied when having the Haitian discussion is always Race. Who cares? The new generation is fastly being done with that. It just becomes more sad to see it being mentioned daily.

Well, back in 2006, a team of graduate students from The New School's Graduate Program for International Affairs went to the DR to do an evaluation of MUDHA. Their report clearly dipicted that MUDHA's project are located in or near bateyes, but their health, education, and legal services were open to the entire community.
As a US diplomat, I went to Visit one of MUDHA's education program in Pantoja, right outside of Sto. Dgo., and I went into the classes and saw Dominican children, as well as children of Haitian migrants BORN in the DR and who migrated w/ their parents from Haiti.
Another great organization who provides educational services to CHILDREN is Accion Callejera in Santiago. This organization is another laudable organization who provides services to CHILDREN regardless of national origin. It's beautiful to see the multi-cultural makeup of these schools. These people who spew their vile, should go visit these programs, and then speak.

Nothing that I say is going to convince you of anything because you have already made up your mind to support Pierre but here are 3 things you should look into from her record.
1. Why did she waited so long to claim her Dominican citizenship - Maybe to avoid being deported or to escape from the Dominican law expiration dates to work in her favor because otherwise she would have been a lost case.
2. Name me 1 Dominican that she has provided legal service to. I can give you names of Haitians she have provided service to, in fact some big cases too.
3. Revastek in Haiti with an estimated 450,000 kids in Revastek why doesn't she go there to help since her help woulb more beneficial and it would actually avoid Haitian "suffering" by coming into DR and she claims everyday.
Look into these things then ask your self again is the help really available to everybody as you claim it is. Remember actions speak louder than words and her action are doing more harm than good.

Belly, alls I'm saying is, try to come up w/ some ex-ante criteria to judge an organization's actions, and then weight each and all organization against those criteria. I don't care what nationality Sonia is, as long as MUDHA is fighting for human rights of a historically marginalized group. But the key thing is that these criteria should be objective. We need to first start with that, then move to assess an organizations value. Can you see that?
As to your questions, I didn't work w/ any particular person to have learned the name of any person who received legal, health, or educational support. But I did go visit the school and the clinic they have near pantoja, and I'd recommend that you and everyone who wants to learn of the type of work MUDHA does, do so as well.
With that said, have a good time continuing to bring up your points. I always kick myself for even reading these comments, as these are just screaming matches w/ little actual dialogue.

It's clear that Haitians in DR think DR belongs to them. They are illegal and demanding UNIVERSAL rights that they are denied in Haiti.
They scream and shout in DR but don't have the COURAGE to do it in Haiti. Haitians don't challenge the status quo in Haiti, they lost FAITH, but in DR they DEMAND things when in fact they are illegal and continue to come in droves.
There is no question this campaign is part of the bigger scheme that is going on, to unite DR and Haiti and Haitians in DR at the forefront of this campaign with the help of Canada, USA, and France.

Why is it that as soon as an issue surrounding haitian/dominican relation arises that we are ready to shed blood and die for? Yet, our kids and families are being robbed everyday. Our people are suffering at a greater proportion from the suffering that our own kind at the top of the ladder are instilling than what a Haitian can possibly do. What has Haitian truly done to you? It is understandable that the immigration problem is serious and should be handled accordingly but what happens when an 8 year old domincan kid is shining boots at 12 midnight to help feed his family? What happens when 21 yr olds are graduating from being engineers and have no jobs? What happens when generals get caught trying to exchange bonds in foreign countries? M.S is right!! I haven't heard not one Haitian complain about the hand-outs they get. As a US diplomat, I went to Visit one of MUDHA's education program in Pantoja, right outside of Sto. Dgo., and I went into the classes and saw Dominican children, as well as children of Haitian migrants BORN in the DR and who migrated w/ their parents from Haiti.
Another great organization who provides educational services to CHILDREN is Accion Callejera in Santiago. This organization is another laudable organization who provides services to CHILDREN regardless of national origin. It's beautiful to see the multi-cultural makeup of these schools. These people who spew their vile, should go visit these programs, and then speak.
Here is the objective of the MUDHA foundation who I know of for a long time now

Nothing that I say is going to convince you of anything because you have already made up your mind to support Pierre but here are 3 things you should look into from her record.
1. Why did she waited so long to claim her Dominican citizenship - Maybe to avoid being deported or to escape from the Dominican law expiration dates to work in her favor because otherwise she would have been a lost case.
2. Name me 1 Dominican that she has provided legal service to. I can give you names of Haitians she have provided service to, in fact some big cases too.
3. Revastek in Haiti with an estimated 450,000 kids in Revastek why doesn't she go there to help since her help woulb more beneficial and it would actually avoid Haitian "suffering" by coming into DR and she claims everyday.
Look into these things then ask your self again is the help really available to everybody as you claim it is. Remember actions speak louder than words and her action are doing more harm than good.
