Santo Domingo.– First lady Margarita Cedeño de Fernandez announced a mega-concert in Santo Domingo scheduled for October in support of FAO's work in rural communities in Haiti.

The concert, which will feature some of the world's top music stars, will be held in the Olympic Stadium on World Food Day, 16 October 2010. FAO Director-General Jacques Diouf will also take part in the event.

Last year Cedeño de Fernandez was honored with the title of Extraordinary Ambassador by FAO in recognition of the numerous social development projects in food and agriculture she has undertaken in the Dominican Republic and particularly those benefiting women.

Isn't it amazing how LF and his wife refuse to comment on the incredible corruption that we are witnessing in all forms of government?

How about a mega concert to stamp out corruption? No way. They would find a way to steal the proceeds.

"Extraordinary" is the wealth she, her husband and their cohorts have accumulated while almost every social indicator of "progress" in DR has gone the way of the METRO performance, DOWNHILL!

Except of course LIE-onel Fernandez’s NARCO DEVELOPMENT model, which moves along at record speed via government loans!

Given the dismal conditions your husband allows to grow unabated for women and children in METROLANDIA!

Now addressing this priority issue that would truly be “EXTRAORDINARY!”

i hope that well known Haitian artists could participate.
Historically an artist if he is no close to the Govenemant or member of the dirty elite is
condemed to die from humger no matter how talented he or she is.
We have seen the most mediocre charlatans such as" t-vice", "sweet mickey" getting rich quickly while seasoned artists like "dadou pasquet "is being ignored

The artist that the elite promotes is usually the artist who succeeds

Some of the Haitian "Racine" and" Rap" influences should also be invited so their talent and their messages could shine

Outstanding. Capital. Cardinal. Terrific.

Bourgeois artists are so superior to the business sector of their class in ethics and organization.

If Margarita Cedeño de Fernandez links the mega-concert with the struggle against de-forestation in Haiti or some other concrete issue, the fundraising possibilities and organizational initiatives will be limitless.

Of course, the prestige of the Dominican Government and the FAO will soar, especially if the organizers can interest the international bourgeois media in the event.

"Belial and the 'bourgeois' word. '0000' is in also!" MS_Jersey writes in his arcane style.

[ Arcane ... known or understood by very few].

0000

When we talk about the exercise of power in the capitalist world, we refer to the choices and acts of either the bourgeoisie or divine beings.

Since divine beings seem to be in a lull ... at the moment ... in both choosing and acting, we are lamentably compelled to concentrate on the bourgeoisie.

We are often told the choices and activities of the bourgeoisie are the choices and acts of the people, which includes us as individuals, because the benefits that flow from bourgeois choices and actions trickle down on everybody.

What trickles down aren't benefits, but urine. Some enjoy the shower. Others don't.

But this mega-concert announced by the first of ladies may be gusher of benefits rather than a trickle of body fluids.

oooo

By the way, 0000 is a happy number if understood as 44.

Okay,

I do not Fvcking get it! What the hell do both Haitians and Dominicans really freaking want? Quite frankly I am perplexed...

I now truly believe both Dominicans and Haitians are the worse scums on the earth who will stop at nothing but find everything to keep hating one another even at moment when actual humans can bond. Nothing is ever good enough as it is always this constant "Damn if both do, damn if both don't" kind of mentality. This woman is trying to do a good deed... instead of seeing praise for her efforts, all I see is spewing hatred.

Hell, I think there are better luck with Israel and Palestine reaching peace than either DR and Haiti will ever be capable of.

COMERCIO

So IKEA has brought in 600 jobs but we lost 20,000!

haiti / crisis

Euclid proposed RD, U.S., Canada and France to govern Haiti

He said that Dominicans should have at least 2 representatives in the government of reconstruction proposed for Haiti, and one each from the other three countries.

SANTO DOMINGO,

Euclides Gutiérrez a PLD leader, historian, lawyer and close advisor to President Fernandez said, “what to do in Haiti "is to create a trust, five people, with the name you want, but it is a commission composed of one representative of France, U.S. and other Canadian and two representatives of the Dominican Republic "to administer the country because nobody has confidence to Haitians for the management of funds.”

Too Easy!!!

Stop giving Governmental free aid. If private organizations want to give it is there right but it would be better for all if they instead use their $$$ to invest in industry. Offer micro-loans to create opportunity. Remove restrictive restrictive business regulation, subsidies and Tariffs.
All Government efforts should be directed strictly to infrastructure, Roads, airport , security...ect. Privatize everything else. Power, Telecommunications..ect.

As for the FAO? Convert it to a Bank giving loans to farmers and other agri-businesses. Have it run as an autonomous organization with no political ties to the U.N. Pay and promotions to be performance based.

The Urine test ....Makes sense
I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to earn that pay cheque, I work on a rig site for a Fort Mac construction project. I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare cheque because I have to pass one to earn it for them?
Please understand that I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their ass drinking beer and smoking dope.
Could you imagine how much money the provinces would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance cheque? Please pass this along if you agree or simply delete if you don't.
Hope you will pass it along though, because something has to change in this country, and soon!

Clinton and Bush will meet with members of the Haitian government.

The foundation has so far collected $36M dollars. It's unclear how much, if any, of the $36M is routed thur UN or thur their private bank accounts. .

In Feb. 2004, Bush used his servile regime in Santo Domingo to overthrow Haitian democracy and to set a US military dictatorship in Haiti guarded by US, OAS and UN troops. The pro-US imperialist dictatorship in Haiti formally lasted two years and slaughtered over 30,000 Haiian patriots.

The Clinton-Bush Foundation was created on the initiative of Obama, who sent 23,000 soldiers to Haiti after the quake to prop up the liberal bourgeois regime now in power in Port au Prince.

As it is said by Voltaire no force is strong enough or powerful enough to stop an idea whose time have come.

Most important of all remember that smash hit by Junior Reid "One Blood".

"Belial, where should I send my donation ?" etiennc01 asks.

oooo

I wouldn't bother with Clinton-Bush Foundation. What they seem to have in mind is a floating fund rather than a sinking fund.

They want to invest the $36M in low risk or no risk securities .. US Treasuries and US agency bonds, seeking an annual return of about 5% or $1.8M a year to finance expenditures directed mostly at the foundation's administrative costs and lavish fees for members of the foundation's board of directors, with mere scraps and crumbs tossed only at the Haitian bourgeoisie to grow the "private sector."

It's a typical fraud scheme, widely used by US bourgeoisie. Evidently, the presidential pension of $210,000 isn't enough for these parasites to live off of.

Speaking of MEGA projects:

Arturo del Tiempo's megaprojects show interesting linkages in the Domincan Republic with high ranking government officials!

Maggie the authorities would like LIE-onel Fernandez to help them out with this!

How did Arturo del Tiempo get the property and funds of this project?

"En poder de los investigadores españoles hay otros inmuebles localizados en Santo Domingo, como el apartamento 17-E, de la torre Del Sol, en la avenida Bolívar, vendido por Michele Morales, quien es hija del canciller Carlos Morales Troncoso."

The Canary is starting to sing!

"Las medidas de coerción que pedirían las autoridades del Ministerio Público español buscan el tiempo suficiente para poder organizar el largo expediente. De acuerdo a las fuentes, Arturo del Tiempo ha sido sometido a numerosos interrogatorios, mientras que investigadores españoles se trasladaron a Santo Domingo a cotejar informaciones dadas por el narco, verificar nombres, propiedades y relacionados.'

There must be a lot of LIE-onel Fernandez boys drinking Kaopectate!

Maggie make sure you keep the National Palace well stocked!
