Santo Domingo.– More than 500 Dominican as well as students from other countries will have the opportunity to participate in the “New York-Dominican Republic Model United Nations” NYDRMUN 2010, a program now in its eighth year.

The conference will take place from March 31 to April 3, 2010 in the UN General Assembly Hall and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY Graduate Center), both located in New York City.

One of the major goals of NYDRMUN 2010 is the diffusion of the United Nation’s work and to give the young participants an opportunity to analyze and expound on the main challenges facing the international community in their role as ambassadors from the different member nations of the UN.

The conference is being carried out in coordination with the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (FUNGLODE / GFDD), the Permanent Mission of the Dominican Republic to the United Nations and the Institute of Dominican Studies of City College.

As someone said: It's about the education. Where's the education? Well, here you have some. Sorry if no scholarships from CCCP are no longer forthcoming.

Gang shooting kills employee National Palace

"An employee of the National Palace and a student of civil engineering was killed yesterday after being shot in the head in the middle of a crossfire between two gangs fighting over drug points in the sector Las Caobas in Santo Domingo West.

Within 48 hours two meritorious students have been victims of criminals.

Yesterday Natasha Martina Féliz was also killed in the wave of crime affecting the country, which every day increases the violent deaths and the fear of insecurity."

Attention Dominican Students; if you are able to get out of the country under any type of circumstance ask for asylum from the host country!

The “Criminal Anarchy” that LIE-onel Fernandez has brought to the country in his three disgraceful terms place your lives and that of most Dominicans at risk everyday!

The only future available in DR currently is for Narco-Fugitives, Narco-Generals and Narco-Developers!
