Santo Domingo.- The land where New York democratic congressman Charles Rangel built a beach house in Los Corales, Punta Cana (east) were given to him by that tourist project, news source elnacional.com.do reports Thursday.
The villa, evaluated at around US$3 million three years ago, on an approximately 3,000 square meter lot, is near others owned by the Spanish singer Julio Iglesias and Dominican designer Oscar de la Renta, elnacional.com.do said quoting a source.
It said it wasn’t able to contact Punta Cana group president Frank Rainieri to confirm the report.
Rangel, who’s been accused of not reporting profits on the villa, announced his temporary resignation as chair of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee.
Rainieri began the tourism project in the early 1970s, with New York City labor arbitration expert Theodore Kheel.

So...funny that none of you Dominican experts did not pick up on the location. He owns nothing in Las Corales...located in Bavaro...a district made up of condos and smaller vacation homes...it is in the Punta Cana Resort Group property located southeast of the airport.
