SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican authorities extradited a drug trafficking suspect to New York Thursday night, while the Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) arrested a man also wanted on similar charges in the U.S.

DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebrón said Elvis Gomez Martinez is the second member of a family extradited within eight days, whereas Franklin Alvarado Durán (Ismael) was arrested on a Supreme Court warrant.

Gomez is the brother of Sotero Yunior Gomez, both arrested in their native town San Francisco (northeast), and transferred to the DNCD compound in Santo Domingo, where the former was held, and where the latter will be until concluding proceedings leading to his extradition to New York, where they both face charges of trafficking heroin in the South District Federal Court.

DR is very happy to extradite Dominican drug dealers to the States ( for most of the drug dealers, but not for every single one, someone has a strong background, then still stay in DR or other countries).

why?
1. showing goodwill
2. safe the cost of feeding them, investigation cost, this and that different cost
3. let the US find, clean, and close the mess and behind of those drug dealers
4. to learn how the US government track/investigating those activities, hence, someone have high positions in DR Government can figure out counter ways, and working closely with drug organizations to -----> "DO MUCH BIGGER DRUG BUSINESS.<----------
5. overall, for DR , only gain., not lose.
