Santo Domingo. – The San Cristóbal Province Sentencing judge today rejected the official position that the suspected hired killer Sergio Humberto Reynoso (Vantroi) was released from prison for serving out his sentence, and instead attributed it to a ruling by a National District Instruction Judge.
Judge Francisco Angomás said court records show that a National District Instruction judge, which he didn’t identify, changed the temporary incarceration ruling against Reynoso, which allowed him to flee the country.
He said according to the Court’s own records the sentence is still pending against the accused, who was escorted back to the country Wednesday night by Interpol agents from Mexico.
Reynoso had escaped with a group of convicts who were promised a Presidential Pardon by then Prisons official Oneida Acevedo, after attending a mass in the church La Paz on the Malecon on August 15, 2004, just one day before Hipolito Mejia left office, and during the scandalous tenure of the former Justice Minister Victor Cespedes.
The National Police yesterday said the deportee, together with Joel Bautista Vásquez (Pilito) have murdered 36 people.

Of course nobody wants to name the judge who released this murderer. No one wants to admit to how much money was paid for his release and just as important none of our leaders see this as a major problem and intend on fixing it. Another example of our failure.

How in heck did we allow our country to degenerate to such level?
I know we, Dominicans, are extremely proud people. However, we must realize that we have a horrible reputation for integrity, government and law. Law, there is no law in DR. It is written and addressed on the fly, and only for the purpose of narco-traffickers and corrupt beyond recall police and military officials.
I know I can be somewhat optimistic at times, but remaining hopeful is fully testing my strength. When will it all end?
