Raúl Serumberto Mota Reynoso (Vantroi).
SANTO DOMINGO.- Santo Domingo Province Judge Jose Rosario Hernandez granted bail for Raul Serumberto Reynoso Mota (Vantroi), accused by Police of 51 felonies, including 36 murders.
Local media and analysts have reacted with surprise in the case of Reynoso’s vast underworld murder network.
The Permanent Attention Judge set bond at RD$2.5 million, exit impediment and periodic visit to the Office of the Prosecutor.
The judge’s ruling stems from an alleged lack of hard evidence filed by the prosecutors of the Justice Ministry against the accused.
The prosecutor Omar Adames had requested the incarceration of Reynoso, arrested on April 23, who returned to the country deported from Mexico that same day, together with Joel Bautista Vázquez (Pilito) or Tony Fernandez Trinidad, who is accused of directly heading a murder for hire “business."

Dominicans are pathologically corrupt.
Although this mans corruption is the most extreme it is that this man has no morals or integrity, just like the 100% of all the other Dominican corruption.
Grow up.

Judge Jose Rosario Hernandez needs to wake up in his bed one morning with the head of his favorite pet/horse next to him. Perhaps he will then know who he is playing with. I may be jumping to conclusions, but it is obvious to me the Judge somehow was the beneficiary of a nice sum of cold hard cash. Guys like him (the judge) are hurting the Dominican people and must be seperated from society. Gmiller is correct, most of these fat cats are pathologically corrupt, and truely see nothing wrong in what they do. God help the DR! Investors beware putting money into a country where there are "NO RULES/LAWS". Too risky for me.

Bail is mandatory as he only "wacked" 36 and counting...... In DR you need to wack over 100 not to get bail, unless you are broke and then YOU are "wacked" for not being able to "grease" the judges. LOL.

More corruption. How could they allow him to be extradited but not enough evidence to keep him in jail? This all stinks like a smelly fish on a hot day. The judge who allowed this is transparently corrupt and should be removed. The problem is our leadership from the top (LF) down is also corrupt since they sit around looking the other way and do nothing about such obvious crimes. What kind of example do our leaders set for our youth and to the rest of the world. I really want to vomit after I read the news sometimes. A bunch of friends get together every week for a nice lunch and these are the topics of conversation which come up all the time. Myself being the only Dominican female of course am always embarrassed by my country. Not much to be proud of with our current leadership. Wilton you need to step up and serve your country!

Here lie the biggest problem facing Hispagnola a corrupt justice system. This remind me of a few years ago when the Haitian Police chief Mr Andresol went head on against the Haitian justice system. At the time we were facing a major kidnaping crisis in Haiti feeling outrage, the police chief went to the press and demanded certain judges to be removed from the bench ,because the police would do it's job find the peps and lock them up. Only for them to be release by a judge who was bribed and these guys will go right back to business as usually kidnapping extorting and killing people.
PS 36 bodies under his belt, an extradition that had to meet foreign scrutny and this guy is released?

From: Dominican Republic, vieja Santo Domingo
gmiller..you go too far in saying all Dominicans are pathologically corrupt simply because of the faults in the legal system and in the government ..the correlation simply is not there and there are wonderful Dominicans living here.
Veronica , I am sure you can not show any link between the President and this case so again you are going too far . Maybe if you asked why there was no appeal from the prosecutors I would have agreed .
I and no one else here knows why the judge made that decision , which ,on face value, looks horrible but I would suggest that he may have been weak and not entirely feeling sure of his own security .
There is an election here very soon and yet which candidate has a platform of zero tolerance for crime or corruption , which party is advocating a change in the way this country is policed. If there were strong party leaders , if there were solid candidates , there may be a chance but I have seen neither .

Ricardolito I pass blame for our corruption problems from the top down. All the facts are in front of our faces. In a non corrupt legal system in this case the suspect would be back in jail and judge would no longer be a judge.
It is painfully obvious how few Dominicans in our political system are not corrupt. Our President's lack of effort in this area shows where he stands.

Veronica , this single piece of news has frightened me more than anything , even though all my gringo friends here have told me it is impossible to get justice if you are not Dominican and have given me hundreds of actual examples of judicial mal practice . But this is the worst case that I have heard of .
Under law , the President cannot get involved in a case and direct judges ,so he can not be blamed here. However, I am sure the time has come for him to be stronger against corruption as this appears to be his weak point . But ,how can he do it ?? We have corrupt police, corrupt navy , corrupt officials in customs and in the legal offices and it would be very difficult to trust anyone .
I have suggested that the country engage an outside body to clean the corruption mess up ..it may be the only way .
From: United States
Ricardolito I applaud your post and agree with your view of this being extremely difficult. Our President is our top leader and must stand proud against these types of things in the public on a daily basis not looking the other way and not saying anything. This is the only way the proper changes will occur. He must make the phone calls and be very publicly spoken against the specific people he knows are corrupt. He must use his power to influence the rest of our officials to rid us of these people and even risk his job by forcing the arrest and firing of these individuals. In the end he would have the voice of the people behind him. The ones who can keep him elected and would want him to keep his job if we all saw these things taking place. Right now they are not. I feel someone like Wilton would take the bull by the horns and do these things. This is why we need him as our next President.
