Santo Domingo.- The United States Government will repatriate l5l Dominican ex- convicts tomorrow Wednesday, the biggest group so far this year, and bring the total to 823 between January and April, a 44 percent jump compared with the same year ago period.

The Immigration Agency at Las Americas Airport said the deportees served sentences for drug trafficking, assaults, robberies, frauds, forgery and kidnapping, among other crimes in jails of New York, California, Massachusetts, Texas and other states in the U.S.

The group is expected to arrive in the terminal at 1:45 p.m. in an airplane chartered by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service.

Immigration said two buses would take the group to its offices in the capital for background checks by the National Police or the Drugs Control Agency.

Let the party start right "drug trafficking, assaults, robberies, frauds, forgery and kidnapping" I am sure they are anxious to practice their new found skills in DR.
wonder what kind of free trade is this ?? knowledge or intelligence transfer.

Lopez31,

Totally agree with you. After all these guys are not going to do anything better given they are criminals. They leave the DR to go to another country with more opportunities to become better in many ways, instead they end up becoming worst/monsters of society with no skills. Now they go back to DR where things are hard. There is no remedy for them. A robar es lo que van, balsa de delincuentes!!! Thinking about it, DR needs some new roads, aqueducts, schools, and these criminals have no good skills put them to patch up the roads.

La Bachatu, they had the opportunities to better themselves, but never took them. they got off the plane as illiterates, with no marketable skills. but, they could have enrolled in some program to learn something, and become productive members of society. unfortunately, that takes time and patience. sadly, in the DR, long term planning is not in vogue. they want instant wealth, so turn to the easiest ways to get it...crime and drugs..well, they will do the same here, as they are no more learned today thanthe day the left, just more streetwise.

Many of these guys left an impoverished country only to find poverty and rejection in their new country. Granted, they did the time for the crime. Shouldn't they at least be given an opportunity to turn their lives around before being stoned to death as some have suggested.

Look at it as a second chance not to waste a life. Their community has let them down.

Oh no! Not this again! This is a joke :D Let's see:

Deported from the United States, destination to the motherland, hang around for a while, do some dirty deeds, gather enough cuartos to get fraudulent documents and pay off customs to board the plane heading to New York. They are right back where they started and doing it all over again!

Now...that wasn't hard...was it? When will they ever learn?

In other latin countries former gang members who have been deported and have visible tatoos eventually go through the process of removing their tatoos- as they are rejected by society and want to change their lives. My hope is that many of the deported dominicans (some whom have lost their way) will become good citizens. Perhaps being in a new enviornment will help guide them back to living decent lives. Almost for certain, you will have the bottom feeders who will continue to live on the backs of working people. DR must create laws that will help protect its citizens and preserve the quality of life. If they don't DR will be the next Brazil.

God help us all here. since the US started this a few years ago, transporting all criminals to their country of origin, the crime here in the DR has rising dramatically.
What idiots these scum are. They had the opportunity of living in the US and making a good future for themselves and they destroy it by committing crime.. Why dont they send them all to Afghanistan!!!!

Lopez31,

I agree with you.

In addition, we should use these individuals to build our roads, work our soil, build houses, and do some of the heavy work some foreigners do. They should be properly educated and only released to society when they are ready to be good citizens.

Otherwise, if they don't comply chain or attach a device that records everything they say, do, every step they take, some sort of a black box, or bracelet. so when they do something wrong, this device goes off. CAPOOM, BAM, BAM - good bye.

NO MORE SCUM INSECT TRASHING OUR DR SOCIETY.

No criminal...trust me..would want to come back to DR as a deportee.

SASDomRep,

U.S won't take the risk to send ppl like this to WAR. They don't have the mental capacity to operate under such circumstances, being a soldier requires a lot of mental work. These scums are speech limited...they only know to say : Asalto, Dinero, and who knows what else?

See, they are good for nothing, and the U.S knows this.

Send them all to Education Camp, they survive they are ready to integrate to society, otherwise plunge them to the castle maot full of crocodiles and pirahnas.

One less, much more living positively in DR.

Can we use parts of the 1.08 billion that we were talking before
to intruduce the individuals to society in the dominican republic.
The money will be waste in the election,
And we could use the money to send the new repatriate to
LA UNIVERSIDAD AUTONOMA DE SANTO DOMINGO.

Pleasuretoure,
I see where you're coming from and indeed that's a good idea. But I doubt it would work. I left my country in search of somenthing better. Yes I encountered the language barrier, poverty and some level of rejection. But did that stop me? Heck no! It just Ma den me go harder. Em I really gonna leave my country to be the same person? Ofcourse not for that I would of stayed. These criminals had the same opportunities as many of us they just choosed to become criminals. Que se jodan, no sirven ni pa' echarselo a Los perros!!
This is my opinion, feel free to disagree.

I have another thought. Contract out with the US to house the Dominicans here for the duration of what ever sentence they had in the US for the same cost the US has to pay. Bottom line the DR says no we wont take your scum unless you pay us to rehabilitate them. We know in the end they wont be rehabilitated but the DR ill at least get thed cash for the time in Jail. Also maybe a few will get them selves killed off their in Gang Violance and we will have fewer walking the streets.

They need to be screened, and their crimes evaluated before they are trusted. Those that merit trust should be put into some kind of program for their betterment the others? Lock them up and throw away the key. It's what Trujillo would have done for going out to a foreign land and embarrassing the Patria!

Cibaena why should these guys warrant a program when the poeple that stayed dont even get lights. These people had there chance and blew it. Every one of them needs the earn the trust by actions

Precisely, everyone deserves a second chance and remember I said IF they warrent trust then they should be helped to grow and achieve and develop themselves into productive people. If not, then to the gallows they go just as TRUJILLO would have done for embarrassing the country. Right to the firing squad..... with no last dying wish.
