SANTO DOMINGO. – After days of awaiting an official rebuke of the aggression by government hired gunmen who fired against a group of journalists of Alicia Ortega’s TV program, a senior (PLD leader today condemned the incident.

PLD national campaign chief and Tourism minister Francisco Javier Garcia said the attack against the reporters who were doing their work in La Romana (east) must be investigated. “One of the fundamental norms of the governments headed by president Leonel Fernandez and the PLD party is the respect and protection of the right to freedom of the press.”

He said Alicia Ortega’s outstanding professional, in depth and objective work in the media is a source of pride for the exercise of journalism in Dominican Republic. “This aggression cannot go unpunished; we ask the authorities to move everything at its reach so that this incident is clarified.”

The shooting is really a side issue , the story is about the goods that left the national lotteries to go to assist the corrupt politicians

Ricardolito, great point.

Both forms of corruption in this case will vaporize into nothing.

This type of behavior is just way too wide spread.

TWO WRONGS EQUAL ONE RIGHT

First wrong : What the government employees did.

Second wrong : What Alicia Ortega did. Exposing the corruption after she did not get money from them in the form of expensive advertising.

ONE RIGHT : The public was made aware of both corrupt actions.

May God Bless and Protect our Great Dominican Republic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Frank (Javier Garcia), I know you can read English, and hope you read this comment:

You are a disgrace to your people and a lying meathead. You should get your Boss (LF), Jaime David, then go get Mel Zelaya and do all Dominicans a big favor, and leave. We really don't care where you go, but just leave. The sooner the better ! Now that I think of it, take MVM, Aristy Castro and a couple of dozen of your fellow politicos, and make the DR a desireable place to live, once again.
