SANTO DOMINGO.- In a climate of conflicting attitudes toward God, how can the faithful withstand constant attacks on their belief in God? What evidence about God’s existence is there for nonbelievers to examine? Intriguing answers to these questions will be explored during the Witnesses’ 2010 “Remain Close to Jehovah!” District Convention to be held at Jehovah’s Witnesses Assembly Hall on Autopista San Isidro km 8.
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that a strong relationship with God is vital for spiritual well-being and personal happiness. Starting this weekend Jehovah’s Witnesses will extend a personal invitation to everyone from the Dominican Republic to attend. This event, to be held in Santo Domingo, will begin Friday, June 18, 2010, at 9:20 a.m. The theme is based on several passages of the Bible, including Joshua 23:8, Psalm 73:28, Proverbs 3:32, and the key text at James 4:8. Strengthening one’s spirituality will be the focus of the program. Admission to the convention is free, and no collections will be taken.
Locally, all of the area’s Witness congregations will be supporting the activity of distributing attractively printed invitations to the convention. An estimated 28,000 will come to Jehovah’s Witnesses Assembly Hall in Santo Domingo over fourteen successive weekends for the programs.
Throughout Dominican Republic, there will be 27 conventions in 2 cities. Worldwide, there are over 7,300,000 Witnesses in more than 105,000 congregations.

Even man in his perfect state was only to rule the animals. Yet for 7000 years imperfect man has been ruling imperfect man. Look at the news on TV.
We all were made to want the same thing. Blissful conditions on earth, free of any mans rule. (Delegation maybe, but that's it.)
Don't worry, It will be full of healthy challanges.
Perhaps its an opportunity for ALL of us to hear a little positive news!
BTW: Wouldn't you RATHER have the witnesses "take over the world"? At least the world would be peaceful, CLEAN (which we don't see here in DR), and happy. Isn't that what we all really want, anyway?
