SANTO DOMINGO. - An Israeli citizen who threatened to detonate an explosive he allegedly carried in his hand luggage was arrested by Las Americas International Airport (AILA) security agents on Monday.

Kreh David, 27, said an American Airlines jet would explode, which panicked the passengers, employees and agents in the terminal, though the authorities didn’t find anything suspicious in the luggage.

Airport Security agents interrogated the foreigner for three hours and then handed over to the National Police.

The Israeli was scheduled to board American Airlines flight l58 to New York, which left the airport 1:50 p.m., the authorities said.

David, whose Israeli passport number is 8522845 and also had one from Italy with the number C7l7623, became annoyed and immediately began yelling when Immigration agents detected the irregularity and refused to let him board.

He was escorted to Police headquarters after 9 p.m. to continue the interrogation.

I am tired of these clowns makeing things difficult for normal passengers to fly these days...

These idiots have made:
longer lines at airports
restricted carry on items that we should be able to carry like drinks and perfume
everyone gets bad treatment because of these idiots

I've noticed that in the DR the media tends to give out personal information such as addresses, license plate numbers, passport numbers etc. Why do they do that, is that relevant to someone just reading the story? I understand that if they are searching for someone that type of information could be helpful to catch a fugitive but every time I see a story about an fender bender the license plates of the vehicles and address of the people involved is published even though no one is fleeing from the cops. Doesn't that violate privacy?

The idiots that work at the airport should be shot. I have two passports and when I enter the DR with my American Passport and show them my Dominican cedula they don't read it and realize I am Dominican. They try to make me pay the 10 dollars and just ask me for my residency card which I don't have because I am Dominican. They will hold you up for hours because of STUPIDITY and lack of training and education without remorse.

I could one day see myself in that guys position and do the same thing almost:) A trained seal from Ocean World would do a better job than these idiots at the airport.
