Santo Domingo.– Dominican police awaits analysis of two guns recovered this week as part of the investigation into Portland lawyer Art Tarlow's slaying. Police want to know whether the death was connected to a legal battle waged by Tarlow and a group of investors against a Sosua businessman after a failed attempt to build a luxury casino.

According to Eddie Bueno Disla, the lead investigator on Tarlow's killing, Sosua police carried out a search warrant Thursday and confiscated a pistol and a revolver, and detained the driver and security guard of Sosua businessman Armando Casciati.

Tarlow, 68, a prominent Portland business and construction lawyer, was shot to death June 10 inside his winter home in Sosua, a small town on the north coast.

Did they arrest the Italian named in the article also? If not why?
This looks like what maybe a "crime of passion" as the culprits will claim they went to see the Canadian lawyer, on a "good will visit", then he became irate and violent, and they had to shoot him in "self defense".
On a serious note, crimes like these have a tendency to snowball and boomerang out of control, creating malaise, and causing permanent red flags warnings with investors, and the honest foreign and local business community. The perpetrators in plural must be arrested, and jailed without bail, and then given harsh sentences, as an example to the law abiding citizens.

This guy has always had confrontations with business associates. Guns drawn and fired is USUAL for him. He has so I hear an incredible amount of money so he should be able to walk from this without a doubt in my mind.

Cockroaches. Why do these scum think they can do this and get away with it?

Oh, I forgot. The entitlement mentality the runs rampant in that 4th world country.

Read this and support her. The only way there will be true justice is to have her print the truth. Dominicans do not have the moral fiber to make this right. Their empty suit president leads by example, but it happens to be transparent corruption.

Not sure Ballistics will turn up a match to the drivers, bodyguards or Mr Casciatis weapons. Surely he was not stupid enough to let his staff keep them or keep them himself after comitting this heinous act. If they are that ridiculously stupid - están locos!

This lawyer apparently forgot who or what he was dealing with in this country. He should have known better as all the rest find out in the end.

Why has reporting about this crime disappeared? The auction of Victoria House and Casa Grande in Sosua was supposed to happen tomorrow--will it? Tarlow's heirs should get his share of the lawsuit proceeds. But Caribbean Casino and Gaming seems to have dumped Casciati and is continuing "business as usual". They just had an "investor's" event. Hey, maybe they raised 3+million to satisfy the debt. Oh the sweet smell of pyramid schemes.
