Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic’s President has decided to go “crazy goat” on the case of a senior “pathologically corrupt” official Hector Rodriguez Pimentel, despite rebukes of his efforts to silence critics, especially the investigative journalist Alicia Ortega.

Morning news programs have criticized Fernandez’s lack of interest in the scandal around Rodriguez Pimentel, director of the Dominican Agrarian Institute, and instead having opted to go “chivo loco” (crazy goat), which means a blasé attitude.

On Monday National District Civil Court judge Pedro Reynaldo Vásquez announced on Thursday.

Justice Ministry Anticorruption Department director Hotoniel Bonilla called Hector Rodriguez “pathologically corrupt” in the wake of another scandal of cost overruns in the construction of a dam, during his tenure as head of INDRHI, the agency which manages hydroelectric dams and canals.

Rodriguez Pimentel was also involved in a scandal during his tenure as Consul in Haiti during the Hipolito Mejia Presidency (2000-2004).

"Fernandez’s lack of interest "

It is NOT lack of interest. It is

1) Lack of professionalism
2) Lack of integrity
3) Lack of common sense
4) Lack of moral right and wrong
5) Lack of intelligence
6) Lack of competence
7) Lack of BALLS

LF is unfit to be a president. Impeach the fool.

All of these corrupt officials should be put in front of a firing squad and put their assets into a pool of money to restart the country. Tell their families all their assets are gone since they are stolen from the country and start with a new group of people showing them this is what happens when you are corrupt. We will no longer tolerate it!

well this is all too familiar, I could appreciate gmiller261 and veronicadr comments, but c'mon guys and smell the coffee, we are talking about a whole country which should be called corruption republic, you could try killing them or taking everything away from them, it is not going to change a damn thing. unfortunely this is the land of the green and i guess the politician really mean that, i am going to get enough money so i could buy my way out, and it does not matter what i do to get the moola

Its just plain ol' GREED!!! Corruption exist in every country. The difference is that some countries do a better job of prosecuting the public officials that get caught. Still no matter what, there is always many more corrupt. There is also many who never get caught. Think about how many get caught every year here in the United Capitalist States of Ameica and its the wealthiest country in the world. Even us Americans can't control it here. Its sad but it will be something that always existed and will always exist.
