Santo Domingo.- The president of the pro-government PRSC party yesterday rebuked that entity’s leaders who seek to “please” president Leonel Fernandez by proposing him as presidential candidate in 2012, but what they want in fact is a Government post.

Carlos Morales said those leaders don’t realize the “damage” they inflict on the right-of-center party. “They are totally untimely declarations which only serve to destroy with the feet which has been constructed with the hands”

The also Minister of Foreign Relations said those leaders, whom he didn’t mention by name, are “devaluating themselves” because in his view think more in the short term, “that is to say, on August 16, so they are taken into account for public posts,” in reference to the date when the Presidency occasionally makes Cabinet changes.

The official said because there’s a bond with the ruling PLD party and Fernandez, the correct thing is to manage it institutionally “and not individually or personally as some leaders are doing.”

“The one that is working thinking about obtaining a position is making good policy and a skinny service to the Reformist Party is doing him”, added

Morales, interviewed by Cristian Jiménez on Color Vision, cautioned that those types of statements “will not please” Fernandez, and as head of the PRSC “totally rebukes” its leaders who are promoting themselves “to obtain a post in the Government.”
