President Fernandez, for most Dominicans, is sluggish on corruption.
Santo Domingo.- For 60% of the people asked by the pollster Gallup, there is more corruption in this Administration of president Leonel Fernandez than before, a perception similar to that of November 2009, when 64% of the population felt that way.
They consider National Police as the most corrupt Government agency.
The tendency of corruption awareness continues growing among citizens since November 2006, when 36% of the population affirmed so.
Other data
The survey said 25% of those polled say that governmental dishonesty this year is just as before, and 12% affirm that it’s lower.
However the gap between those who believe that there’s less corruption than in the past increasingly narrows, because in July 2009, 25% had that belief, but only 13% in November that same year.
From November 2006, to August 2007, 33 percent of the population believed that there was more government corruption in the past.

Imagine, even when these corrupt government official try and keep the majority of the population ignorant and poor, they can still see it how it is.
If the government provided them with better education they would ALL be impeached. Hence the reason why they these swine do not.

If people know L-F's administration performance is poor, and why still vote for him and his party?
Which means they want L-F to abuse them, and they enjoy the abuse in social, in health care, in education, in security, in everything.....

Most comments ara blah-blah-blah. Ask youself, "What have I done for my country, the Dominican Republic?"
Respond to that and I will tell you if your comments are valid!!

The single biggest factor in the financial well being of any country is their culture.
Example: the Japanese - they live on an island with few natural resources and they rise to be a world leader in economics. because of their culture. They achieve this by Hard Work, Duty, Loyalty to the Cause, Pride in their Performance, Death before Dishonor. The Dominican Republic as well as many other Latin American Countries are the example of the other extreme. I don't think Fernandez could change it if he wanted to. It is like kicking a brick up hill.

Yeah,
I suppose 69% is low, way low. Sad thing is he would be re-elected in landslide if he could run again, or the "stout lady" would be elected by significant margin, if she is pushed to run. Maybe the problem is not the problem-could it be the people? If it is the people, then maybe only actions along premise of "Soylent Green" would help.

"why still vote for him and his party?"
Because there is not a competent moral responsible adult in the DR.
It is only the best of several evils.

Escott, you are just a loudmouth gringo who is here to take what you can get. you do not give a rat´s ass about the people here, just that you can make a fast buck, which goes a long way here. you fool nobody. the only reason you are disturbed by things is becuase they affect YOU. whether or not the country makes any social or admnistrative progress is of no importance to you, as long as YOU are happy. at least i have some connect with the people, since they look like me, and not like you. i have taken the time to be fluent in the language, and i bet you can barely order a pancake in spanish. begone, troll.

The 40% is represented here by the fans of LF who think he is so great. Once again I need to point out another example of LF's curruption, his modern accounting practices are on display. He is going to violate the constitution by taking money from budgets of numerous agencies approved by the legislative branch and use it for energy. His handeling of the budget puts his modern accounting practices on full display. On a monthly basis this currupt government says that there is a budget shortfall an either gets a loan or anounces a new budget. This one is new, violate the constitution in order to pocket more money. Its obvious that DR is bankrupt but I'm sure that all the LF lovers will still love him and still say they love there country. I'll give it to LF he is a professional at curruption.
